kimbob- I really enjoyed writing my husband letters every day while he was at boot. I felt like it compared to talking to him, just in a different way. I also made a scrapbook which I really had fun with! I put all the letters I got from him in there and anything he sent to me :). I made it from the beginning of our relationship to present time and LOVE looking at it and thinking of all our happy times! I also have little videos of us doing silly things on my cell phone and I play those daily when I need to hear his voice and smile. Listening to good music also helps, and of course this awesome website :).

Hey girls, my fiance has been been gone for a month and I leave next week for boot camp so that means another 2 months that I cant see or talk to him. Just curious what do you girls do to keep going and keep positive?

Alicia H when did your husband leave for bootcamp? It takes them time to get everything processes and setting up where the money is deposited is one of the last things they do in processing.

My husband also left June 22nd and we didn't get paid the 1st, but we did get our first check the 15th of July, then again this past weekend. We did have a bigger check the first time and a smaller one the second time. So the 3rd one will hopefully be bigger again! :) It's all a guessing game until A school... well really then I think it's all still a guessing game! :)

Military pay is the 1st and 15th.With Boobt Camp it depends...My son did not get a first check. But he has since gotten 2 deposits.Deposits vary so when u do get a deposit don't bank on that being the amount he is gonna get each time. The first deposit was like $1000 2nd one was $300.They take out for alot of things in the begining.Uniforms, the stuff they get at the store, things like that. When ur hubby graduates he will have access to his LES(leave and earning statement)and you will be able to see what he is making and what yall will recieve.Once they leave bootcamp and get into school it starts to balance out.It does go in automatically. We have Navy Federal and I can see what our deposit is a few days before it is deposited. My son went into Bootcamp Jun 22 and did not get a check until July 15th.

Ok, so I was told that my husbands check would be automatically put into our checking account on the 1st of the month...And I still haven't recieved it. Anyone know about how long it actually takes?? Any advice would be most appreciated!

hey ladies, are any of you familiar with Horizon Village apartments in Zion, IL? Checking into apartments in the area without actually seeing them is kinda tough so any recommendations will be appreciated!

I'm still waiting on a check from the Navy for the stuff they broke in our move from Japan to San Diego.
