My due date is Thanksgiving. My husband is VERY happy. Our son was a bit of a surprise, but it makes it that much more enjoyable. We decided to name our son anthony. I originally wanted to name him Alexander after his dad, but my husband wants to be the only one named that lol.

It will, don't worry! Then you will be missing being pregnant! So what is your due date? I bet your husband is super excited! Do you have a name picked out?

Aw! Thank you so much Diannadb! I am very excited to have a boy, I wish the next 4 and a half months would fly by!

I still email my husband and ask where things are! He is definitely the more organized of the two of us when it comes to some things...and yes I am definitely both parents most of the year. But it's ok. My husband really takes advantage of the time he gets with our son so our son doesn't feel like he is missing out. I've always tried to do something fun with him when daddy is gone. So it makes time go faster and he gets to have a great time as well.

Congratulations on your soon to be baby Tiamia! Boys are awesome! I love being a mommy to my little boy! He is so curious and well spoken and OMG I think he is just perfect! I always thought I wanted a daughter, but honestly boys are so fun! And so easy! I'm so happy for you and your family!

I am glad to see I am not alone, but also equally happy to see that some wives have taken the reins and become both parents! ( Im not due until thanksgiving so I am slacking off until then :) ) I finally got a call from my husband today at about 5:30 my time ( palm beach, fl) we talked for over 45 minutes! I didn't even recognize his voice. It was so great to be able to speak with him, i felt horrible that he was sick though. But I guess everyone is sick when they are there because they are introduced to so many other things. It was one of the happiest moments for him and I though, because I finally got to tell him that I found out we are having a boy! Thank you so much to everyone for all of the support on here. Not just to me, but to all wives. It is so amazing to have a community of perfect strangers reach out and try to encourage, help, and just plain listen to other women who are going through the same thing. I hope you all have a wonderful day, and an even better weekend!

I feel like I am more productive since he has been gone. I am the only parent to do things around here now, so they HAVE to be done. At first it was very hard, but now 6 months later, I feel like I have a good routine down... in fact when he comes home, I have to retrain him, LOL! Also, the discipline has been challenging for me too RN, but like I said, it has become better :)

tiamia, I feel that way too, you're not alone! I never realized just how much I depended on him before. It's really clear to me now that he's gone. Even with disciplining our daughter...I'm lost! She barely listens to me and he used to handle most of the discipline. I feel like an idiot, so it's definitely an adjustment. It's all coming back to me now though, I'm managing. It will be over soon!!

Does anyone else feel like they were a pretty independent individual before their husband left, and now that he is gone, you feel like a pile of silly putty because he isn't next to you every morning when you wake up? haha i can't be the only one who is this pathetic... well i could be the only one, but i sure hope not!

Thanks Vallery, that sounds fantastic! I will take all the help I can get! And Smoke, I definitely have baby fever. Mine is almost 9 already and I'm dying to have another. I have been in college so I have put it off but I just graduated last month and am ready! Just gotta wait for us to relocate where ever my husband ends up....hate the waiting though :( And I agree with Sacred Anchor, you will never be able to "afford" it but timing is a factor too!
