Hi. Are there any moms out there that have kids in boot camp right now? I live in the Las Vegas area and would love to start up a group to meet and talk about what's going on with our kids. I'm a first tome Navy mom and have a ton of questions about what my son is going through.

Hi AIRR Mom 86, very happy for your son, what a job, rescue swimmer! it's amazing to hear of all the different jobs the Navy has, really makes you realize how specialized each individual is in what they do! Congrats to your son!

Hi Cheryl56, good luck to your daughter. Mine said the food there was pretty good, and it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. Shes a cowgirl, so that helped quite a bit, she is pretty tough and used to physical activity. Tell your daughter to get ready to drink gallons of water, be in crazy humidity, and have not privacy whatsoever lol. Great Lakes is a beautiful place, but SR's stay inside most of the time. For a mom, the first couple of weeks are tough, cuz we have no idea what they are doing, but they really are ok. She will get to use her cell phone at the airport to tell you she is leaving, then once they get to GL to let you know she is there. Let me know if you have questions, my daughter was in a 900 division, which was really great, but she had a lot of extra duties. What rating does your daughter have? Cheri
