I'm in Reno - not a Mom but a wife, and I'm always interested in meeting new people.

There's gotta be more Moms from Nevada here. We live in Northern Nevada and I would LOVE to get to know some more Navy Moms in the area. My son is heading to MEPS in Boise this weekend and then he'll be a DEPper. Since he'll be in the program for a year, it would be neat to get together for a picnic or BBQ. Holler if there are any local moms that would like to bond and chat. Since this is a whole new experience fir us, it would be nice to meet some seasoned Moms and relate to other newbies who have children that are about to ship out.

We just signed the papers to send our son Jonathan to MEPS in a couple of weeks.  He will be in the DEP program for about a year as he is just finishing up his Junior year in high school.  He plans on joining the Nuclear Field program when he goes to MEPS.  This is such an exciting experience for us and our son.  This next year is going to just fly by!  In fact, now I think we need to plan a graduation and Anchors Aweigh party at the same time if he leaves for BC right after graduation in 2014.  We'll see I guess.

ForeverMom, I am so excited I just received the letter today about the graduation and his address.I already have a few letters, cards and pictures. They are all in the mail tomorrow. And yes I did see the PIR group open for the day he is graduating. Thank You. Now if I can only get that phone call.  lol

Hi ForeverMom, Thanks , I have been writing letters but did not receive the letter yet with his address or what Division he is part of. I just want to know if he is o.k and if  it is what he expected. I don't want him to have any regrets because that will make it harder for him to get through this, but I guess it's too late now. I live in Las Vegas or Henderson NV, And you?
