Wow, welcome to all the new moms and sub wife! Glad to have you here. This site was my lifeline while my son was in boot camp (which was the hardest thing I have ever gone through)! You'll miss your child so much it hurts. You may get letters from them that make you cry and worry but guess what, they will make it through this experience (and so will you) and when you see them at graduation (which you must attend if possible) you won't believe the change! They stand a little taller, walk prouder and speak with more confidence! My son said that he didn't think he changed but we could all see it! Yes he was still his goofy self but there was something underneath that he couldn't hide. I hope this makes sense!
Write to your sailor every day! If you have nothing to say send a card! It's important that they hear from home. Keep it upbeat and positive. I started every letter/card with "another day, another victory"! My son loved it. When I was out of thing to say I sat down and made up a questionnaire for him to answer and return! I kept it light and goofy. I also sent letters from the dog & cat. Those were actually the most fun to write!!!!
March 5 doesn't work for me but the 6th does! I'll go anywhere you ladies decide. I'm in Hooksett so if anyone wants to carpool let me know. Sorry this was so long......
