Soooo sorry to have missed your going away party, Navygal88....my whole family had the flu last week.....knocked us for a loop.  Hubby was home all week, both kids and then wham I went down.  Still fighting a lot of congestion.  Didn't want to send you off with it....it would go like wildfire through the barracks....

All the very best to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I hope you enjoy your time going through bootcamp...

MOM>>> make sure you keep us posted on her letters, etc.  We'd love to hear how she is doing....and you make sure you keep in touch with us so we can chat with you too.....

Spring can't come soon enough!  Had just about enough of this white stuff.  What's halfway between Keene and Concord?

Navygal88, please have you Mom post your address!

My son has been able to post on Facebook a couple of times and he's gone from Greece to Spain and is LOVING it!  He said he can't understand why he seems to be the only one excited to be on deployment!  Guess the Navy really is in his blood!

Tiramisu, welcome to our group!  Glad to hear you're in a warmer climate, as you can see, we're all getting a little sick of all the snow we've had!  I'm from Hooksett, right next to Bow!

Thank you for the warm welcomes.  We're no longer in NH, but NH still feels like home.  We're now in warmer climes now, though.  Is anybody from Bow or thereabouts?

Hi, I'm new here.  We lived in the Granite State from 1983-2006, so we're almost natives.  Our son, like us, has many friends in NH as well as many fond memories!  Our son is currently at OCS in Newport.

Hi ladies!  I haven't been on here for a while, been keeping busy.  My son came home for 2 weeks (yeah), it was a total surprise!  He called me around 9:00 one night and asked me if he could call back around midnight, he really needed to talk and couldn't do so at 9:00.  Of course I waited up for his call but instead of calling he walked in!  What a wonderful Christmas present!  Does saying goodbye ever get any easier?  He has graduated from A school and is going to be based out of Norfolk, VA!  Only about a 12 hr. drive from home.  He is being flown out to his ship tonight somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea (he told me I'm not suppose to say where!).  He is so excited to be joining his ship at last!  Unfortunately his ship will only be out to sea for another 21 days but at least he'll have a chance to get his sea legs!

My best to all of you, sounds like some of you are pretty busy with grandchildren. It's nice to read everyone's updates.  Navygal88, Best Of Luck to you, you'll do just fine in boot camp.  I won't be able to make your going away party but I'll be thinking of you.  Maybe your Mom can post your address on this site and we can send you boot camp mail.  My son said that's what got him through.  I wrote to him every day, sometimes twice a day.  He said when they finally released their mail he had 27 pieces waiting for him!

Has anyone talked about doing another lunch?  I thought we said we'd do something closer to our Keene friends the next time so they won't have to drive so far.  I'm up for suggestions as I don't know the area.  Now that things have quited down here I'll be checking in more often.
