FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Everyone, doing much better today. Thanks for all the (((hugs))) and prayers. I had hubby call Jonathan last night and seemed to be doing better. He was headed to bed having had guard duty early am so we're going to call again today and chat with him.
Working on Christmas cards today...can you guys send your address'es in a private message? Thanks for being there for me...love to all....Cheryl

Jonathan called last night. Going through a rough patch. Sounded awful. UGH. Cannot wait till he gets home...but then I won't want that to end knowing he is going so far away is really sinking in and I don't think he knows what is about to hit him. I am really feeling awful this am... :'(

Cheryllynn, When is your son due home for Christmas? The SWCC guys out in CA have to either choose or be given one of two 10 day time frames & my son has not told us which one he has yet so no flights have been booked for him as of now & I'm getting worried & frustrated that it will be super expensive or very limited choices for flights! I Googled Diego Garcia & there is alot of info/history out there on this island as well as a site done by a retired Navy guy that was stationed there in the early 70's.

Cheryllynn, that was really quick. Sad for you that he'll be so far away, but I'm glad he'll be home for Christmas:)
And DeeM, what a wonderful thing oyou all are doing and the tree is beautiful!! I don't think I would be able to go to any of the meetings tho as I'm all the way over on the other side of the state, just west of Keene. Maybe I could do something from here?

cheryllynn, Wow that changed fast...but then again it's the Navy! Will he be on a ship out there? How is he feeling about the change? We'll be here for you my friend!!
