Cheryllyn, I am almost envious. There is no way you can prepare for that emotionally, if you think you are a proud mama now, you just wait my friend. You're heart is going to grow just like in the Grinch movie (haha). I'm so excited for you.

And I'm excited to meet all of you on Sat. :)

Welcome sonj! You are in for quite a journey. I hope you'll be at the luncheon next week, we can throw all kinds of helpful hints your way! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. Lisa, she is a doll! They grow up so fast.

One week ladies and we'll be eating at The Common Man in Concord. If you haven't RSVP'd to the event just look under events, NH moms luncheon and do so. I'll be able to give them a heads up as to how many will be there. If you are not sure that is ok...they can work with that...thanks...

Hi Sonj, my son PIR'd on 9/2. We stayed at the Spring Hill Suites in Waukegan, only 2yrs old...very new, very comfortable & very reasonable rates. When making reservations at most hotels in that area you should call instead of doing it online & ask for the Navy graduation rate, it is much lower than what you would see online. This hotel had a great continental breakfast, indoor pool and a shuttle to & from the base the morning of PIR which we took because we heard about the line of traffic to get into the base & didn't want to wait in that. I'd be happy to help with any other questions you may have!

Hi Sonj..we just made all our plans last week. My sons PIR is 10/29. We are flying out to Milwaukee..flights were cheaper going in there. We are staying at the Marriot for $66 a night. It wasn't the graduation special but a different offer. Has a king and sleeper sofa. Works for us. There are lots of different hotels in the area. You should have gotten a brochure with the letter. Some hotels have shuttle service to the graduation others don't. I'm not sure if our does or not but we are renting a car anyway just to make sure he gets back to base on time. And to do other things. Please feel free to ask any question...you have every stage of Navy mom here...
