OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I wish I could remember the hotel we stayed in, I'll ask my mom she might remember, she's only 37 years older than me haha. Anyway.....it has been three years for us too. My advise to you Sonj is when you book a hotel, ask if they have the service where they bring you too and from the PIR, it was the best. The guy knew all the shortcuts and we were one of the first to arrive while the line of personal vehicles was miles long waiting to get in. Have fun planning!

Cheryllynn, it's very easy to get confused because there is LOT going on there. Just tell them you're new and someone will walk you thru it. They have the monthly adoptions posted in the forums. They really do a lot, I don't have a whole of time and no $$$ to do what they do, but just being able to write letters or cards sometimes is better, as they can be read over and over.......

AuntieJ, I am part of the MASP and she certainly works wonders. All those moms talk about their packing parties, that would be something we could do as NH moms. Just one more thing we can chat about next Sat. I can't wait to meet everyone
