Good Morning cherylynn, My son graduated on 9/2 & has been across the street from the training ctr on hold since then. He called the other day & told us that they will be leaving for San Diego next week to begin SWCC training.

I'm in . Am I in the middle? We could meet here..
A dad in our PIR group got a letter yesterday so now I am ready to stalk down the mailman...A bit anxious today.
Have you sailors all graduated or are they in bc?

Ok, we should try to figure out a place in the middle...would that be headed up 89 or 93 from Concord Lisa? I think it would be fun to get together!

I think a get together is a nice idea, I'm on the complete other side of the state but I'm only 1-1/2 hrs from Manchester and about an hour from Concord, so all in all it's not that bad. Maybe we could meet somewhere in the middle or thereabouts?

Hi Cheryllynn and Welcome to this support group!! You have found the perfect forum to vent, all of us know exactly how you're feeling. We've all been in your shoes. Heck I was so afraid of missing a call I used to put my cell phone in my bra when I didn't have any pockets! My son was instructed to call my cell phone when he wanted to call home. Kelly is right, join the PIR group, it's nice to connect with those that share the same PIR date.

I think us NH Navy moms should plan a get together sometime, what do the rest of you think? I know Kelly & I live not too far apart and Cheryllynn, you're not too far away either! Let me know what you all think???

Thanks Lisa and Kelly. This Navy stuff is all new to us. No one in our immediate families are military. My husband has a couple of cousins who are Navy and I had a couple of Uncles that were Navy.

Hi cheryllynn! I too missed a call from Chris, I cannot tell you how Iong I cryed for. It does get better tho I promise. Chris is in three years now and is stationed in Jacksonville, FL on an air base. And if you think you're bursting with pride now, just wait til PIR, you for sure are going to need a case of tissues!!! Any questions, feel free to ask, if one can't help, someone surely will. And Welcome!!!

Hi cheryllynn & Welcome! Having the emotions you are having is completely normal but when you miss a phone call like that it truly feels worse.....I've been there! My son PIR'd on 9/2 & is still at GL waiting to go out to San Diego for Spec. Ops training. Those 8 weeks of boot camp felt like an eternity but being a part of this Navy for Moms site has been awesome & a life line for me! I would encourage you to join the 10/29 PIR group & also if there is a group started for his division join that also. I felt such a connection to the other Moms & we went through those 8 weeks together supporting each other! I had the wonderful opportunity to meet most of those Mom's at the Meet & Greet the night before PIR & we all have vowed to stay in touch....such a special bond we have now! Your son will be fine & your right, he is in good hands & will learn an awful lot. We are all here for you, so feel free to drop a message anytime! Hugs to You! : )

My son left for BC on the 6th.. PIR is 10/29/10. I have received the kid in a box and the first letter letting us know PIR info. I wasn't expecting a call from him for a couple of weeks but he called the first weekend only we weren't home...he ended up calling a friend who forwarded his message. Cannot believe I missed it. Emotions are all over the place. I know that he is fine and in good hands but I just want to burst from the pride I feel and cry all at the same time...ugh...
