I live in Plainville, MA, but I am looking for any NY Navy moms who live downstate or LI. Do any of you live in those areas? Particularly Orange or Westchester County, the 5 boroughs or LI. I'd love to talk to you about an idea we are trying to put together. Thanks for letting me in.

Hi Everyone! I'm so excited that I found this group! I've been a member of N4M for over a month and belong to two other groups, but it is nice knowing there are Moms close to me, who know the pride I feel and the worry I have. My son is a big boy...married and with children...but he is STILL (and always will be) that little baby boy I have loved so dearly. Now, he is playing in the "sandbox" with his grown-up toys. ;-)

Hi Everyone,

I am new to N4M. My son enlisted last week. His recruiter will be over tonight to discuss all the details. I believe he is off to boot camp early November. Does anyone have any info that I should bring up when meeting with his rucruiter.

Thanks

Cathy from Brooklyn

Hi Jamesmom - It has been two weeks since Eric left!! I just got my first mail from him regarding graduation and I one line note. The swearing in was a lot of waiting around and it was very short but sweet, and yes, I cried again!! They were only three others. Is James in boot camp and when does he graduate?? Eric's is APril 15th. Hope all is well with you.

Hi - I haven't been on in awhile - we are 24 hours from check in - HELP!!!!! I was told I can go to Albany and stay overnight for the swearing in - yeah!! Anyone else checking in this week???

I am a wreck but so looking forward to Eric finally getting started - we have waited a long time!!! His party was great - just a few tears.. We put Anchors Away on the cake and a Good Luck Banner. He was so appreciative of the party - I am glad I did it. He's not one for big celebrations.

I don't know how I am going to make it through on Thurs - but lots of people tell me it okay to cry!!

Talk soon - Michelle

I really enjoy this site - except sometimes it makes me cry more when I read about other people - I am just an emotional basket case!!! And I am not usually like this - it is not like I smother my kids!!! But it is a big change and unlike kids going to college - we will not see our kids as often!! THanks for the best wishes Mabel and you must have enjoyed your 4 days - JamesMom. I am having a party for Eric on the `4th - I want to make a banner - any suggestions other than Good Luck ???
