gonavymom-so sorry about your situation with the storm. It sounds terrible. I hope everything is OK. Have a great time visiting your daughter this weekend.
SailorMom DDG55....you should definitely go tour the USS Wisconsin destroyer...and the mueseum in downtown Norfolk...we also took the Victory Rover cruise that goes down behind the ships it was amazing to see. I even climbed down a few ladders on the USS Wisconsin to see how the sailors live on the ships...have even more respect for all of them now! Proud of all our Sailors! missing my son this week.
Hi everyone....we had a great time visiting our son in Norfolk last week. It sure rains alot down there....streets even flooded one night everyones cars were stalling out cause they drove through the water it was like a river in front of Navy Lodge...we stayed in that night thank goodness....Hope all is well with all of you.
1 more week, still time to make plane reservations Marcy.
(I know how much he'd enjoy following two moms around the cosmetics aisle!)
I wish I could be in Norfolk when you are Diane - we'd have a great time!! A little NEX shopping, for starters with your sailor's ID LOL
Tried calling my son, left him a voice mail.
I had not thought about that...Growing up here in NC we only think of Lejeune as Marines and we have our Marine to stand. Great thinking Marcy...your right, Lejeune is only a couple of hours way!
Grasshopper, I posted it in the Camp Lejeune group too :) It looks like about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Jacksonville.
Sailor Mom DDG55...That would be awesome!! If your Son has watched the movie Restrepo, we have one of the featured guys from that film as our Key Note Speaker at our Gala on Friday night. He is now the Command Sergeant Major at Ft. Bragg, Lamonta Caldwell. I watched the movie last night for the 1st time and it is intense! After watching it I came away knowing even more that no Man or Woman that serves this Country should ever come home and be without! This Country should take care of every single need they have after all they give!! As a Military Mom Restrepo is hard to watch but at the same time I'm glad I watched it!
