Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

RED CROSS CONTACT INFO:

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

I would still like to meet any navy moms or wives that are going to be the the area from Sept 8th to 12th. I spend so much time on here chatting and would jsut love to meet a few of you.

Gonavymom if you aren't too busy and have moment away from your daughter I would love to meet you. My son will not be able to spend time with me the whole time I am back there.

Comment by allie1928 on September 4, 2012 at 4:59pm: SailorMom DDG55....you should definitely go tour the USS Wisconsin destroyer...and the mueseum in downtown Norfolk...we also took the Victory Rover cruise that goes down behind the ships it was amazing to see. I even climbed down a few ladders on the USS Wisconsin to see how the sailors live on the ships...have even more respect for all of them now! Proud of all our Sailors! missing my son this week.

It sure rains alot down there....streets even flooded one night everyones cars were stalling out cause they drove through the water it was like a river in front of Navy Lodge...we stayed in that night thank goodness....Hope all is well with all of you.
