Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

gotta love our brave sailors ! some have duty some do not some at sea and some on land...some stubborn some not so.. but may God watch all of them and may they grow though this experience, some things only life can teach ,  they are all in my prayers.

Oh my sweet Lord.........my rescue swimmer son and his friends at least have the good sense to leave Virginia Beach where they live but are staying with fellow rescue swimmer who has an apartment in Norfolk.  Sooooo.  They're all riding it out together.   Let's keep each other updated as to what's going on.  So far he says NOTHING........no wind, rain, etc.

@Tricia ~ what ship is your son stationed on?  My son is on the Enterprise and has watch from 1400 today until 1400 tomorrow (Saturday) EDT.

 

B took his car to a parking garage in downtown Norfolk (he said it is close to the mall) and he parked on the 3rd floor.  I hope it will be safe during the storm.  He just got this car and hasn't even made the first payment on it yet.
