Yeah, I got my degree in Communications/Public Relations, but I had to find something up here. I wound up with a job at a law firm, and while it isn't my first choice, it pays the bills, keeps me busy, and gets me out of the house, haha. Try looking at Joining Forces. Its a new program that focuses on finding work for military spouses. They just got it up and running a few weeks ago, so I don't know how well it works or what the success rate is, but try it and see (:

Ben's Mrs, I feel the same way we just submitted all our housing stuff but im still stressing out about leaving my job here. I've applied to about 10 jobs in the area that apply to my degree but I dont think i'll have much luck with that. My back up plan is trying to find a part time job on base. But seeing Jess just write that its hard to get into base jobs, that has me worried lol.

I have a dgree in Geosciences and Geography so theres only so much I can do lol certainly not teaching and retail. This job hunt is going to be a little tricky lol but i'm determined to move with him, I've stayed in this place long enough because of my job its time to move on.

Good luck with a job on base. I've been trying to get one for months now, and there just hasn't been any great openings. I found my job through Virginia Workforce on-line, and it took me maybe two weeks before I had a job. They post mostly retail, secretarial, teaching, and medical/dental assistant jobs on there. I don't know what your skills are or what you have a degree in, but if you fit into one of those categories, check it out.

Jane(Steph's mom), my daughter is reporting to NAB Aug 1 and we just returned from our apt hunting trip.  We looked at 15 properties in two days so it was quite the experience.  My daughter found everything on-line and made appointments prior to our trip.  It all depends on your daughter's rank (paygrade), if your daughter will have a roommate, where she will be stationed, and what type of housing she is looking for.  A great starting point is the Nusbaum website.  They are a very large developer and property management firm in the area that offers a variety of options.  http://www.slnusbaum.com/MultiFamily/Communities/ApartmentByState.a...

Good Luck.
