For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

RED CROSS CONTACT INFO:

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

Comment by John and Yvonne on October 22, 2009 at 4:36pm: I live near NAB Little Creek and Military Highway is about kkk10 minutes from Little Creek. Hampton Inn is brand new, as is the La Quinta. The Double Tree is right in the Military Circle shopping center. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Closer to the base by about 5 minutes is the Quality Inn (also new) and the Best Western.

The weather hre is really nice right now. In the 70's and sunny. It's one of my favorite seasons here.

The Navy Lodge on Little Creek is also new and not badly priced. I think it's about 75.00 a night.
