Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

RED CROSS CONTACT INFO:
In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

I'm sorry to hear about your son's seizure. I hope he's okay and receiving the best medical care available. I've had a seizure disorder since I was 14.
My son was at TPU in Norfolk for 3 weeks before he flew to the Gulf to catch up with his ship.
I will keep your son in my prayer's and I hope he has a full recovery.

Tina, I work for the red cross here in amarillo. There are a few things you need to know before you contact red cross. They will not send him home unless the family member is immediate relation, or has been extremely close, for instance the grandmother lived with you while he was growing up. Red Cross personnel are not allowed to ask certain questions. We used to be able to ask how close they were but now we no longer can. It has to come from the client. Make sure you push the fact that they were very close, you may even want to go as far as her being like a second mom. If there is any thing I can do please let me know. I wish you and your family the the best of luck. My prayers are with you.

Tina: Did you find out anything from the Red Cross? Also call your sons recruiter and if you can't get ahold of him, I know some recruiters here in Tucson that can get you the info you need.

I'm pretty sure the Red Cross is where you can start. My nephew came home when his father had emergency brain surgery, but he was in San Diego not the Gulf. (My son is on a ship attached to the Iwo Jima). Call the Red Cross and see what they say. Get back with me and we'll work it out.

Kelly, on the far left side under your name it says "My Photo". Click on that link and you should get a screen that says "upload an image" or "upload an existing image from http:". Click on the "Browse" botton and find the pic you want on your computer. Then click on "open" and then click on "Add"

Kelly... go to settings which is at the top right of the page under your name...when that page comes up click on profile photo... it will then bring up a bod wher eyou can browse on your computer for the picture you want to use as your profile. what ever picture you want to use needs to saved some where on your computer. Hope that makes sense..

Donna, is your son on his way to Norfolk? Transient Personel Unit (TPU) is temporary living quarters. My son was there for 3 weeks before they flew him out to catch up with his ship.
