Willette, now that the Navy is going to station the Bush in Florida, still interesting in AZ?

I remember my son had a sponsor that wasn't much help either. I think it was his recruiter (a great guy who really cares) who told him to find someone to be his mentor and ask lots of questions of anyone who would give him straight answers (not try to get him in trouble--those are around, too). I know my son would have listened if the Navy tried to explain BAH, housing, etc., so I don't think it was a case of he didn't listen. There's got to be a better way! Maybe N4M is it!

It always amazes me that the Navy seems to do such a poor job of explaining to their married sailors how all this works. They all seem to be confused in the beginning!

Donna: You don't need to answer this but is sleep apnea suspected?

I love Bremerton! I was there in September 07 after an Alaskan cruise. I told my son that I'd be ok if you ended up there.
Jacq--you asked where all the moms are tonight--they've come out, haven't they?! Makes it hard to watch BB on TV and type and read....
Teri, I will TRY to hug my son when I see him. He's getting better about it. He was a hugger when he was little and then got embarrassed. His godmother makes him promise that he'll kiss me goodbye when he leaves here everytime! That's been going on since Boy Scout camp.

Donna is about as far south as you can go, just east of McAllen. Debbie (Danny's Mom) has dubbed me a part-time Texas, not a snowbird, thank you very much! I don't want to hang out with a bunch of old people either!!! We're buying my parents' winter home, a park model in an RV-MH park. We went to stay for the first time in November for three weeks. Well, many of the people are my parents' friends, and might be up there in years, but definitely not old. We had a riot! I love my little trailer--I'm decorating the great room (ha ha, in a trailer) in Texas cowboy decor and the bedroom is Mexican market. I did find a beautiful oil painting in a little boutique in Weslaco that's really too good to leave there--a Mexican flower market. I fell in love with it though, so it's hanging in the bedroom. I have a classmate I'm going to visit sometime in Keller; that's closer to you, I think. And my son has a friend in Azle--a cute little Texas blonde.

Hi, Donna. I have one there until the end of the month. What are your sailors doing there?
Comment by Melissa (Tucson) on January 14, 2009 at 10:18pm
I've been on the webcam for the last 90 minutes with my neice in NC. Was was in the Navy along with her hubby. I love talking to them as they can answer ALL my questions and then some!

I'm praying for all of you with that frigid weather. I will not tell you anymore what the temp is here. I will only pray that you all stay safe and warm....:)
