Shoot, Teri, go shopping in Virginia! The last time I was there, I didn't bring the right clothes--not prepared for the heat and humidity of July. I went to Penney's and hit a great sale. There's Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Macy's or something like that, but the best is the NEX! Buy some cool Navy t-shirts. The best prices though are at the little building where you catch the tour of the base. It's outside the gate and you don't need a sailor to be with you to shop. I bought t-shirts for $10 instead of $15 or $20.

We have a place in Donna, TX. Anything warmer than -2 would be great! 33 is a heat wave here. We keep wondering why the heck we came home instead of staying, but we know why--Andy came home from Afghanistan and next week we'll be in Virginia. I'm going back to TX in March even if I have to go by myself...

Hunkering down and staying warm! It's minus 2 here and doesn't take into account the wind chill--it's blowing, too, because I can hear the wind gusts. Instead of us going to college basketball games, we decided to stay in and watch on TV.

I agree with Kathryn, what other words do you need to know??? lol I have a feeling they will know more English in Mexico than you realize, since they depend on us American's for most of their tourism....

Ladies, it's time to put your big girl panties on and just ignore the spammers. We're giving them just want they want, our attention. We all know how much phorn, etc is on the internet and as long as we're online in a public forum, it's going to happen. Just ignore it.

Hello everyone - joined so I could apologize for the frustration that the spammer caused. She's been banned as of this morning. If you ever are contacted by anyone like that again or notice them commenting within groups or boards, shoot me a quick PM with the link to their page and I'll take care of it.

Thanks!

I found her profile--listed as from Germany. She's been blasted on her page and turned in to the admin. She'll be gone--like the one from Canada last week. I got all I can handle at home without a secret affair! lol Who's got time for that--we're on the computer too much.

I suspect there is probably a homecoming once or twice a month n Norfolk. So I'm sure we're all planning on attending DIFFERENT one's. Since I have to drive to Norfolk to leave Matt the car, I'll leaving early and will be making lots of stops to visit N4M's! I can hardly wait. And I'm going my myself. Molly from Adopt a Sailor will be there the same time as me (End of March/beginning April). This I can talk about BECAUSE it already happened: When my nephews CG returned from the Gulf, they did not come in together. There were 1-2 days apart. I don't think any base can handle that many Sailors and family members all on the same day. Usually the carrier will come in first and of course, by itself. I'll try and find the link for the website in Norfolk that carries a lot of the Navy news. They go down to the piers and film when the Carrier Groups/Strike Groups are departing and arriving. From what I've heard from FRG, I will get 72 hours prior notice of homecoming. And that's why I'm leaving early and hanging out on the east coast.
