For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome, Michelle S! I'm in Archdale, near High Point. As Mary said, there are several of us in the area. We have gotten together for lunch a few times in Greensboro. The Facebook page is called USN Moms of the Carolinas.

I just moved to Greensboro from Dallas. My son is scheduled to graduate on 12/12 and then heading to pensicola. Are there any Navy Moms close by?

I think that is perfect. After PIR we gave our sailor his things, we stayed the wknd; he remained there for A school. Many times they fly them out early the next morning and the familys wait w/them at the airport. I hope you at least will have until Sunday with her.

Lisa-She is going to Dam Neck, VA. I was thinking phone, laptop, chargers and a few of her own underclothes. Is it okay to take this to her in a backpack or is there something more suitable?
I am in NW Charlotte, take I85 to I77 and then I am off Exit 16. Just a couple of miles from Northlake Mall.

Hi Kim- The less the better. Does she know where she will have A school? They do not have much room and it is a huge hassel to move everything. JW stayed in Great Lakes, I brought him his phone, laptop and that was it really. They only have a small locker to lock their things in. It's very narrow; they really can manage without having anything from home. John still had 2 sea bags and 2 more bags to carry when he moved to VA. When he came home for Xmas he realized this and left much here as well. Where are you in the Charlotte area?

My son just hit his 1 year mark on the 11th (PIR). He is EM (electricians Mate) stationed in Norfolk but currently deployed. Will you go to Great Lakes?
