Adam'sPM, I am doing ok, thank you. My appointment went pretty much as expected this morning. She fussed at me because my sodium levels are up, my weight is up and my blood pressure is very low. She tweaked my meds slightly and has scheduled me for an echocardiogram next Thursday. She also gave me a gentle? push to quit the gym and go to the Heart Failure Workout/Rehab Program, where I can be monitored by a specialist during my workouts. They also have aquatic aerobics and dietary ideas.

I suppose my only other news events are 1. My daughter-in-law is still sick most every day of her pregnancy but she and the baby are fine. If I forgot to post it before...it's gonna be a boy. 2. Chris has been nominated for JSOQ. He should know within the next few days if he was awarded it or not. He has already been before the board, so now it is up to the board to go back through the nominees' answers and paperwork to see who they think deserves it most. It has really been a boost to his morale just have been nominated.

Adam'sProudMom - I hadn't thought about looking to see if there are any groups in Virginia.  Thanks for the idea and I would love to go see my aunt and meet up with you all one time.

Chris, We are hoping my son goes to C school in Virginia since it's only about an hour and half away and we go up there once a month at least to go shopping.  He's hoping for San Diego though.  Yep, I know about the free meal thing.  My son constantly asks for us to send things because he said things are expensive in Great Lakes - he'll be there until the beginning of next year sometime for A school. :-)

Chris, will you be able to join us this time?

Chele, maybe one of the times we do this again, you can come visit your aunt and join us! Are there any groups on the Virginia side that you could meet with?

Proud Navy Mom Ship3Div316, hope you can come next time!

Mary, how are you doing?

Chele, sorry to hear it's so far...My son is in Norfolk, so I understand...but close enough I can go see him as much as possible! And he's still single, so he likes for us to visit...you know, the free meals thing...lol

Chris,Forever Ray's Proud Mom, it's about the same just instead of west it's south. :-) I do have an aunt who lives very close to Greensboro.  I live near the Albemarle Sound in NE NC.

Chele, check out the Wilmington group...

I wish I lived closer to Greensboro, but I'm on the coast.  If I did I would be there Saturday, but it's at least a 4 hour drive without traffic.  It would be nice to meet other moms.

Wow, NCNarrator, it sounds like you could really use a break! Glad you'll be free. The IHOP where we meet is the one near Wendover and I-40. (The street address is 1101 Lanada Rd., Greensboro.) We start at 11:00am, and usually visit for a couple of hours, so for anyone who can't get there at 11:00, just come on anyway!

surfermom, Bangor is not so bad. My son spent a few months at Whidbey Island before being forward deployed to Japan. We all flew out to Seattle for his wedding (he did not have time to come back here for the wedding, so we all went to him). I suppose the really bad part is the wind. Wow! It was February and bitter cold. We had brunch at the top of the Space Needle and then went out onto the platform. It blew me backward several times. It was not much better out on the island. I did not make it down to Bangor, although I wanted to go there and Kitsap both. Good luck to your son. I understand how much you will miss him. Mine has been overseas 4 of his 5 years in, we only have 1 and 1/2 to go. Maybe? lol He is still on the fence about re-enlisting.

Which IHOP and what time?  I actually have this Saturday off!  (Minor miracle there - we're so busy at work that we're working 10 hour shifts, 6 days a week!)
