Wow. I can't believe so many live so close! We have to plan this.I work in downtown Greensboro, and I live in Randleman and I have a few friends who live in Thomasville. I'm so excited...this would be really cool...
Battlebuddy, Chris, Mary and MotherofTwo, I live in the Lewisville/Clemmons area. I would love to join you all is possible.
Battlebuddy, Chris & Mary I live in Thomasville/Trinity (right at Randolph/Davidson/ Guilford counties) area about 20 min down 85 to Greensboro & would love to join y'all if I can!
battlebuddy and Chris, it sounds like fun. My next appointment is late April for a CPX test. I will have someone going with me on that one...tends to really tire me out. I can drive down though just for a good cup of coffee. :-) Chris, do you work at the school or the hospital? My dad was an ET on the Manchester (many, many, years ago).
The more the merrier :) Would love to plan a date!
battlebuddy and Mary, I'd love to join you for coffee if I can invite myself. I live in Graham and work at UNC. My Sailor is an ET on the destroyer Truxtun in Norfolk at this time.
Let me know next time you have a few minutes if your near Greensboro and we can have a coffee and chat. :) It's OK here....it's home.
battlebuddy, I go through there every couple of my months on my way to my doctor in Chapel Hill. Was going to transfer to UNCG before my heart attack 2 years ago stopped my educational pursuits. It's a nice area.
I'm in Guilford/Randolph County right in the middle of the State. My son has been in Sasebo Japan since May 2011 on the Germantown. They are currently underway with the BHR and Tortuga. :)
percussionvalentine, I have been a member at this page for a few years but tend to stick with my son's rating (IS) or with the group where he is stationed (now Atsugi, Japan). I see your son is working on the Tortuga, I think the last time my son was at sea, I saw the Tortuga's name pop up every once in a while. I hope your son enjoys his deployment to Japan he just must really be mindful of his "p's and q's" there. The main island is not as bad as Okinawa but the curfews and limitations apply to all personnel there.
minemom530, Congrats on getting a sailor in your family. I am above you in Catawba county.
