MargaretR, anytime you want to run down to the beach, you can always hang out with us!! That invitation goes out to all!
Hi MargaretR and K.D., we have a group in Mebane that meets for lunch once a month or so. My son is graduating C school in Norfolk at the end of this month then on to the Truxtun. His PIR was 7/10.
Hey - I'm in Raleigh with PIR of 10/12/12 - anyone else besides Wilmington around?
Hi everyone! I am from the Charlotte area and my son just left for bootcamp Sept 4. He is my one and only child so I am going crazy without him! Is there a way to get his address early so he doesn't have to wait so long to get letters?
Welcome Domsmom! I'm in Wilmington too! There are quite a ferw of us here in town. Send me a message and we can talk!
I live across the river from Cherry Point. There isn't much there in Havelock. My sons Marine buddies call it "HaveNot" lol. If they like the beach, it is only about 20 minutes away. Eastern NC is beautiful but not much here. Small town with a very homey feel. Tell them to watch for areas that flood when they look for houses if they are not going to live on base. I will be happy to answer any questions, if I can.
We lived near Cherry Point when I was a little girl and my dad worked there as a civilian employee. We loved the area and some of my family still lives nearby. I think he will be happy there. It is very military oriented. It is smaller than some bases but I think it is well-kept and up-to-date.
