Hey Chis, ForeverRay's Proud Mom...I live in Burlington. My son is stationed in Norfolk...
Hey Cora-Brooklyns Mom, I liven Graham, East of you a bit. Glad your daughter is "closer" now!
Hi NC Mom's! I have been off the net since PIR on 17 Feb. It was a great time & no snow! I would like to just let you all know that I am very close to VA Beach & Norfolk. I work for DoD at the Joint Staff Complex in Suffolk. I have 28 years of experience with the Navy as a Navy Wife so please feel free to pick my brain because I still have friends on active duty and I work with Navy personel who I can easily reach out & touch.
you are welcome :) I am happy to help.
Thanks for the info sunshine...we have to hear when his deployment date will be or if he will get to come home before he deploys.
motheroftwo.....glad I found you. I know you will be glad to have him closer. My son is in Hawaii so we don't get to see him at all hardly. We went to visit at Christmas. He will be changing his location soon too. I'm hoping for Norfolk or nearby but you never know. Your son was so nice. I talked to him for about 10 minutes.
Spensmom - sorry forgot to say THANK YOU for letting me know...I got so excited when I saw your comment my husband and daughter just looked at me like i was crazy..LOL
Annie - I live about 4 to 5 hours away from VA beach so close enough for a weekend visit. It was the closest one out of his choices (by a long shot) so I'm one happy mom!!
Honorhim - I thank you for that and might reach out to you! THANKS!!
Momawalrus, Havelock is a very tiny little town. Without the base, it wouldn't even be a town.lol You are only 20-30 minutes away from the beach. I might would stay there. If you want to stay in town, the Holiday Inn is the newest place. I would try that first. The address is 103 Branchside Dr, Holiday Inn Express Hotel Havelock, Havelock, NC 28532 () hiexpress.com There is also a fairly new Hampton Inn and a Quality Inn. The rest I would skip.
I'm about 2 1/2 hours from Virginia Beach so could help out if needed.(you never know) :) Hello NC Moms. My son is at GC..so have enjoyed being close enough to visit our sailorman....but he may be in NY next year...so we will miss so many visits. Have a great and blessed weekend.
