Hi, NC Moms....Looking for a mom who lives in Thomasville and has an 18-year old who has been in for @ 7 months, he said.  Was in O'Hare airport yesterday and talked with this nice young man.  He actually lives in Gso.  as I do. Just wanted to let you know that I had talked with him and we had a nice conversation and he looks healthy.  :)

Sunshine..I would probably fly as close as I could. LOl I am not much into driving in new areas that far by myself.  Do you know if there are any close hotels to the base there in Cherry Point?

Thanks guys. We found out that as long as his insurance USAA is legal in NC, then he is ok. He wants his own insurance and USAA is recognized in every state. He is buying a car and has it set up so that as soon as he signs the loan paperwork it goes into effect.

USAA should be able to answer all of your questions as well, is the car registered under his name?  is USAA less expensive?  He may be able to get USAA insur in NC less expensive...

Hi Ladies,

I have an insurance question. My sailor is stationed in Hawaii and is in the process of buying a car. He is currently on our NC insurance and has an NC drivers license. He is required to have insurance there and has USAA already set up. Our insurance company, Nationwide, is telling us that he has to stay on our policy if he still has an NC drivers license. Anyone else go through this? He will be in Hawaii for the next 2-3 years. Is there some kind of military form or something? help!

If you are flying in, you might get a better deal flying into Raleigh. It is two and a half hours away but if you are getting a rental car anyway and don't mind driving, you will probably save a quite a bit of money. It is very rural here. New Bern is about 15 minutes from Cherry Point. The time saved might be worth the money though.

Sunshine.. well if by chance he does not get leave before he deploys I will fly out to see him before he goes..

Are you coming for a visit or is he flying out?
