Mamawalrus~ New Bern is the closest to Cherry Point which is in Havelock. The airport is listed as Coastal Carolina (used to be Simmons-knott). I live across the river from Cherry Point. Jacksonville is closer to CL. Delta and US air are the airlines here.
HI NC moms.. my son will be deploying next month, he is there at Cherry Point. (near CL)
Can anyone tell me the closest airport to CL or Cherry Point?
I must say thank you for all the words of encouragement. For me, I am honored to be a Navy Mom, then to be surrounded by a group of loving and caring women. Even though our lives may never we will forever be in each others hearts and prayers. Thank you all, I pray that I will be a blessing to someone as you have been to me...Our son's tell us not to cry so they won't. That is what my son told me. He said that he hates to see tears in my eyes~
Oh, my son knows I cry and he knows how very proud I am of him. I tell him often and I always tell him I love him. Mine is pretty happy to have have some shore time as well.
hey i live in reidsville close to greensboro i work at womens hosp in gboro unc 80 are u still on line
Praying for your deployed Sailors. Please let them know that we appreciate their service to our country. May they be safe always.
Cheryl my daughter is suppose to graduate from A school the end of March. Her ship's deployment was extended until June. They are in the ME!!!!! I sure hope they don't fly her over there!!!
IBeeTuneChiLee'sMom, when my son finished C school his ship was already deployed and they sent him to out to where he was he going to be stationed, done his paperwork and in a week flew him out to meet his ship. That may or may not happen to her. Depending on how time is left on the deployment of the ship she is going to be on. Momoffour, it is hard, my son has been deployed twice and the one thing in everything that he has done, I have never let him see me cry. Even though there has been lots of tears, they just have not been any in front of him. Congrads on both of your sailors!
@momoffour. I understand that. I have to remind my son that I am a "girl" My son set me up and "Oovoo" account so that we can talk when they are deployed. @Clamom's mom I know that you hope they don't fly her out there. If they do we have remind our selves that is what they signed up for. But not us. Call me soon
IBeeTunechiLeeMom....wow so soon!!! Courtney's ship is currently on deployment. I guess they will fly her out to meet the ship once she is done with A-school but I am praying that they don't.
