My leaves in March and returns end of Sept. Mine says I can't cry when I say goodbye (yeah right!)
I am preparing for my son's first deployment as well. He is on the Eisenhouser. He gave me there schedule from now till August when they have to go out... I was not even ready for it. He keep on reminding me I am a Navy Mom and I have to man up(lol) So I don't know what I am going to do when he is gone for those months.
congrats to your Sailors who are PRI, it is so wonderful! I am facing my son's first deployment, he is a land Sailor so it will not be a ship. I will be a worried momma until he returns safe and sound. I just pray the Israel/Iran thing does not erupt while he is gone.
10 days from today, I will be on my way to GL!!!!! Arriving the evening of 15 Feb. I will have my DIL and her mom with me so thought we would do some retail therapy on the 16th. My hubby will have a family friend currently on active duty to pal around with. They both went to GL for boot camp so much reminiscing for them. As it gets closer I will post what I am wearing to meet & greet so you can find me.
chocolatelablover, I'm also staying at the Navy Lodge. Coming in on the 16th. Will try to find you. Going to Sarge's Meet and Greet also. It is getting closer. I am so excited.
Good Morning Ladies! I live in South Mills, just off rt 17 about 7 mi. south of the VA state line. My son lived/lives in Wilmington before going to BC, and his wife is still there. She is back at UNCW to get her teaching certificate. They loved Wilm. Which is why they moved from Colonial Beach, VA back down; well, that & school. She is originally from the LaPlata,MD area. They met at UNCW. I was just down there two weeks ago to visit my DIL
When our kids were little we use to travel down to White Lake are you to there?-chocolatelablover
chocolateblover-I live closer to Winston-Salem. My son has also done two deployments. Hope he is going to be on land for a little while.
Cheryl, how close to VA do you live? I live just north of Elizabeth City.
unc80: We are flying into Milwaukee on the evening of the 15th. Staying at the Navy Lodge. Going early so my hubby can reminisce of his days at BC in GL; 37 years ago. There are 4 of us going, my DIL, hubby, active duty friend of family & ME! Are you going to Sarge's Meet & Greet? We are!
