Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am Matt's Mom I am from the Kinston, NC area my son has been in the Navy for almost 4 years. I don't comment very often I just read and say I understand what you are going through. Our son is our only child so it has been really tough, but thing do get a little easier after while.

Thanks for welcoming me. I read all text on my phone, but have not figured out how to respond on my phone, Don't get to the computer very often.
My husband and I have moved to Supply, NC from the mountains of Colorado. We arrived in NC on 5/2, closing 5/8. I have already had 2 visitors and the 3rd visitor arrives tomorrow. in between I have been unpacking, visiting the beach,{5 miles away}, trying to decorate. When we left CO it had snowed over night. Its been in the 80's and 90's since we arrived. Our son is 26 and his PIR 4/18/14. He is in Pensacola for A school. This has been a very emotional and stressful year between the move and my son joining the Navy. Hoping to meet some moms either here or in person that aren't that far away.

Welcome to the Jacksonville, NC area Jumanji. I'm glad we have some things in common. The Navy4Moms is very informative and a place to share your emotions knowing other moms are or have gone through this process of our children being in the Navy.
