Hi all - just realized this group was here! Joined Navy for Moms in May when my son started boot camp. He finished A school in San Antonio (Hospital Corpsman) a month ago, and flew to Japan last week. He really seems to like it, but is getting oriented and settled.
Ginny(Robert's mom) - you must be fairly close to me - I am west of Winston-Salem (Clemmons). What does your son do in Japan?
hello, i also have been absent recently, but miss my navy moms. i cannot wait to hear about the christmas program. (i have a christmas baby-29 years old) i would love to meet other navy moms in greensboro also. i accidentallly met one in my dentist's office. we could have talked allllll day....we have dec. 10, dec 13, dec 25 birthdays, 2 grandchildren, and hopefully son will make it home for a few days......also, cannot say enough about the uso, just saw them at a show in charlotte.
Well I will be in Chicago at my Daughters PIR on the 17th!!! Woo Hooo!!!!!
hi,
Surfermom.......
Haven't been on here for a while but am so glad you are getting something together for Christmas. I am in Greensboro and would love to meet some Navy moms around here. I see cars at times with "Navy" on them, but never get a chance to see who is in one. Unfortunately, on the 17th, part of my day is taken up with choir rehearsal so being able to come would depend on the time frame you are thinking. sounds great, though.
I would love to meet up also! 17th sounds good. I am on the coast so hopefully not too far of a haul lol!
Good Morning, I'm a newbie, my son's PIR is 12/29...anyone else going to the GL at that time?
Hi Surfermom - right now that sounds good to me, however, my son is still in A school at GL and will be there thru Christmas. They "shut down" 12/16 - 1/5 so from what I understand my sailor will be coming home for one of those weeks so if his is the first week, then that may hinder my ability to be there. I will let you know once we find out for sure if/when he will be home!!!
Thanks - Susan
Hi, SurferMom! Sorry for not responding earlier. My husband and I just returned home from Chicago. The Pass-In-Review graduation ceremony was a wonderfully moving experience. I continue to stand in awe of the men and women who sacrifice their lives for our freedom!
I would love to meet up with everyone sometime. Weekends work best for me. :-)
