Know we have all our friends here on the west coast praying for you all!   Stay safe and I know you all are prepared.  Keep us posted please.  My son said they gave them 5 gallon water jugs, he has a medical kit to use for his group of Marines just in case, and they were briefed on what to do.. They have to stay off roads and not allowed to leave base starting tonight and Saturday and will be prepared for clean up on Sunday.  He said town about 30 min away was evac yesterday,, he said there was rumor they "may" evac them but never back so I am assuming it was not done.

Wow! Hope you all stay safe. Looks like us coastal folks are gonna get a direct hit.  The predicted path is right over Cherry Point. I am directly across the river from it. I think this one is going to be a rough one and we have had so many storms here. I hope the storm doesn't travel to the west of us. that would be even worse for us.  Pray for it to push to the east overnight.

Well all worked out,,, he missed a connecting flight during his travel which in the end was a blessing in disguise.  He got a hold of anyone he could at Cherry Point and CL.  Eventually he was transferred to the right person.. well the mentor assigned to him is no longer there.  That is why there was never a return call or emal.. Due to miss flight, the airline actually flew him into New Bern and the HM@ picked him up there and took him to Jacksonville to get luggage. LOL  My son sure did learn a lesson about missing flights! hahahaha

He is loving it there at Cherry Point!

he has not been able to get in contact with his mentor they put in his papers... any ideas that I could pass along to him..

we saw on the map about New Bern,, no idea why they flew him into Jacksonville...he has no idea if someone is to pick him up or he takes a cab?  Will they reimburse him for the taxi?

How far is CPoint from CL?

Cherry Point is a little less than an hour away from Jacksonville. Is he flying military transport? If not, I wonder why they didn't fly him into New Bern. Cherry Point is about 15 minutes from there. Is the USO arranging for him to be picked up and taken to CP?
