He is stationed at Ft Meade but lives behind the gates at the NSA so he cannot even get pizza delivered lol!~ It is sooo wonderful having him somewhat close. He is taking leave the end of June so we will see him again soon!

Looking for help from some of my NC Navy Moms that might live in the Raleigh area.  Troy Yocum an Iraqi veteran is walking 7000 miles across the U.S. to raise money for Military Families and Veterans that need help.  He has been on his hike for a year now.  He will be coming to Raleigh, NC this weekend banging his drum!  Thursday night he will be at the Durham Bulls game.  Friday he will walk into Raleigh to meet with folks from the Mayor's office and the Governor's office.  Saturday is a huge fund raising day and this is where I need HELP!! We are going to have an active duty member from the Army, Navy, Marines and AirForce standing in Attention to see who can do it the longest.  They will be at Center Court at Triangle Town Center.  I need help to collect money at Triangle Town Center.  We are also still looking for someone from the Air Force to participate.  If you know someone in the AirForce that might be interested, please let me know.  We would love to have a female!!  Please go to www.Drumhike.com to learn more about Troy and what he is doing for our military families!  Thanks!

Hi there, just wondering if any other NC moms had Sailors in Sasebo Japan?  My son leaves in one week. He is home on leave before he goes, but, I am a bundle of nerves. He has never been very far away from home for very long, EVER.  Now he is going to be halfway around the world from me... :( I am happy for him to have this experience, I am just wishing is was only for a year and not for 3.

He is doing okay.  I have just started to get regular e-mails from him - as long I send via his USN account he has access.  He is currently in an undesignated status - long story... so he has a chance to perform lots of different jobs on the ship and get a taste of what he may want to do in the future.  I believe that he met a young woman on the Vinson when they were in HI, no details there!  How is your son doing?  The homesickness seems to stay at bay until we send pictures or news from family activities but he still wants to know!

ANnie: I think the Vinson is in the fleet deployed with the Boxer. My son James is on the Boxer - We are living in Bolivia, Brunswick County. I am a UNCW Grad student.

My son is preparing to leave for BC in under 4 hours. Is there anyone else's loved one heading out today?
