Hi to all of you in beautiful NC. My name is Tina and you will probably hear lots from me in the next months. It is so good to know there is a site where we can gather. My son finished A school and is based at Virginia Beach.

glad to know there is a North Carolina moms group.  My son has been to boot camp graduated and now is at A school in Pensacola. So proud of him.

I should really check this page more often lol. I am in Western NC. We had almost a foot of snow here in Brevard. My sailor made it home Christmas Eve and was supposed to go back on Sunday. She got to leave 3 days late because of the snow which made me very happy :). So glad the snow didn't arrive a day earlier or she would have been stuck in VA. Glad to see it is warming up for the New Year but I don't expect it to last lol. We normally have 6 in of snowfall a year. Last yr we had over 42 inches and this year we are off to a good start. I hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays and if you didn't have your sailors at home I hope you do soon.

Mossgirl, My son also went to Hammond two years ago for Christmas during BC, he said it was certainly not home but it was away from the camp.

MommaBecky, I know what you mean about enjoying the snow...last year we got lucky when Chris came home and we had the snow on Jan 29th or something like that. He and Casey and Storme played Wii in my den all night after going to Olive Garden for dinner. Then he and I went sledding. The heart attack put a damper on my sledding this year but he finally got a white Christmas while at home. Also, I am thankful to your daughter-in-law for driving my son to the airport Tuesday.

We got about 5 inches here in New Bern. It is supposed to be 65 degrees Saturday(Anchors Aweigh Party day). The weather here is so crazy.

outer banks here, snow started about noon and we have about 2", been sittin on the couch drinking coffee laced with kahlua watching it snow, stopped now.  norfolk naval is closed to all but essential personnel.

Still coming down lightly in Charlotte. We had maybe 5 (?) inches, but seems to be melting off the roads this afternoon. Got a very nice phone call from my son in GL yesterday. Thanks so much to the fine folks at First Bapist Church in Hammond, IN for feeding him, giving him a phone to use and letting him know they appreciate his commitment to our country.

Rural roads are terrible here. Even had a DOT road plow wreck and go off in the ditch and flip over near our home this morning. Interstate 85 is not bad around Charlotte. Unfortunately, I have to go into work at 11 pm tonight.
