DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am in Charlottte and my daughter shipped out July 14. She went to MEPS in June and was shipped within a few weeks so this has been a fast learning experience for us. Looking for other parents in the Charlotte area.

OK Moms,
A Navy Mom from another group is asking for help!!! Here is a copy of her post:

My son needs your help. He is stationed in Norfolk, VA. Due to circumstances beyond his control, he must find a new home for his 2 spayed female purebred Siberian Huskies. They are happy, love people & other dogs, current on vaccinations & have had some training but still need some work. If you know anyone within a 1,000 mile radius of Norfolk that is interested he is willing to drive at least half way. The 7month old is red/white with blue eyes. The 13month old is black/white with one blue eye & one brown.
The are bonded & love to wrestle with other so he would like to keep them together but knows that finding good homes for them is more important. This breed is high energy so needs either a fenced in back yard or a nearby dog park so they can run & play. He loves these dogs but knows that he has to let them go. The adoption fee is $200 for each dog to help cover recent vaccination & boarding costs.

If you know of someone who might be interested, please let me know. Also, if you could copy and paste this to some other groups around VA please do so.
Thank you!!!

Wow, Brandonsmom, that is wonderful (but bittersweet) news! I'll be thinking about you this week. Keep us updated.

Brandonsmom.......What did I tell you? Comes quick.....although this is much quicker than planned. Get used to the sudden changes in plans....that's how it works! :) Is he excited? I hope so. They do change, too.....it is maturing if he can make it through. Good luck. If you need to talk, just send me an e-mail.
