Lillian...I saw in your post you are from Vass. I live in Durham but have a cousin that lives in Vass. He and his wife live in Woodlake.

Good Luck to your Son!

Martyzmom,
My son was an AO during his first 4 year enlistment. He was attached to a squadron but did two deployments on a carrier. I'm glad he told me some of his stories AFTER he came back. Flight deck work is hazardous!!!

Where do you go to find the webcams. I was stationed in San Diego when I was in, and my daughter is stationed in WA!! What base is your son at?

Ighatfield,
Glad you are getting your feet wet!!!! We all have to start somewhere!! Some other abreviations you'll see here quite a bit are PIR = Pass In Review (the boot camp (bc) graduation!

Ditto to the snow comments! I usually love to watch it come down but enough already!!!

I'm up for a "meet and greet" in Greensboro. I would really like to talk with Wanda, SuzieB, as my son is trying for Japan so try and get her to come. :)

Thanks Suzie B. for your reply. I know my son, Pat really wants to make it and so do we! He was in the Delayed Entry Program for 9 months and was so relieved when he found out he was really going. Yay!

I'm not sure what this group does. I'm just so new to all this. I'm from Vass, a little bitty town near Southern Pines. Actually, a transplant from S. Cal but lived here for the last 7 years. My son, Pat just went to boot camp on Feb. 17th soooo I'm just waiting to see how he's doing!
