OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

The grandparents got a letter today! He said that he was SIQ for two day after 20 of them in his div got their wisdom teeth taken out. I am guessing he may have had to pull watch since he was gone for the previous days. Just so glad to hear he is fine!!

Hi Ladies!! Nice weather out today LOL! We are having 40 mile an hour winds and cold as can be!! So disappointed today because my son's division got a phone call last night but my child did not call. My only hope is they were splitting up everyone's allotted time and his will be sometime this week!! Hope everyone has a great day and stay safe on those windy roads!

Tina,
Congratulations to your new sailor!!! And to him also!!!

NatesMom,
Ask any questions here you want. That is what we are here for!!! And if no one knows the answer they may be able to point you in a direction to find the answer!!! Like Connie said - there are places to search for more info, but sometimes it's quicker to just ask and then you can search for more info if you want.

OK question -- when does one become a "Sailor?" See, I have a lot to learn ;-`)
Perhaps I should put some of these questions on the Newbie page or move to my page? This way I'm not bugging everyone in this group all the time.
