Donna C,
Good to hear from you again!!! How are you doing? Good news on your son. Can you tell us where his orders are to?

Ginger,
My daughter started having back problems after being at her duty station in Washington for about 9 months. She has always been very active but now finds herself sitting at a desk all day (she is a PS and spends her day updating records on the computer). At first she wasn't taken seriously either but after awhile they found out that she had muscles in her hips that were shrinking and were pulling other muscles out of place. She has some stretching exercises that she has to do. Is he still able to work out and run like he used to? Does he find himself sitting more than usual (you said he is in school right now). Hopefully Martzmom might have some exercises that can help your son.

Anna, got your email. That's awsome that Jason will be going with Chris! I'm not telling my Chris, he'd be so jealous! Knowing that they could have kept the Chris/Chris team going through C school and first duty station! Oh well, S. Korea aborted their satellite launch for now, so my son is safe for another day.
Have a wonderful day, all.

sailormom19, you are close to me. I'm going to school in Morganton, but I live in Hickory. Maybe we can meet up sometime for lunch at Village Inn or Denny's near the school?
Tammy, congratulations on getting joyful news. I was so relieved when I knew Chris' PIR date. Now you can begin to fill empty hours with planning what you would like to do that weekend with your new sailor, and then you can get there and find out that they don't want to do anything, but take a hot shower without 88 others! Haha! My son was content to go to our motel room and download music, talk with friends on the phone, and catch up on emails.
Martyzmom, I know how much you are looking forward to seeing your sailor!!! I was able to spend most of Friday and Saturday with Chris but the first time I got to go to his school, and see him without so many restrictions was just fantastic. Have a safe trip and enjoy!
Anna, I got your email. I'm glad you are having to keep the secrets and not me. I'm a little nervous after reading the news tonight. I'm hoping everything is still alright in Korea when I wake up in the morning. Oh well, nothing I can do about it, but pray (and needlessly stay awake all night worrying). :) Have fun at grad Friday. By the way, ask your Chris if my Chris' roommate Tyler is still around. If so see if you can get a pic of him for me to send to my Chris. The one I got of the two Chrises and Tyler was so awful!

Tammy,
Another hotel to recommend is the Sleep Inn in Lake Bluff. It was a nice hotel and they provided a shuttle to the base so we didn't have to wait in the long line of cars waiting to get on base. Our driver dropped us off at the main gate and it is just a short walk to the drill hall. Their address is 3250 Bittersweet Ave
Lake Bluff, IL 60044. Sorry, don't have a phone number.

Martyzmom,
First of all congratulations to Marty for his orders!! I hope he enjoys his time on the Abe. My daughter is also stationed in Washington and I am a member of the WA/OR group and there is a group called Bangor/Bremerton/Kitsap Sailors and Family. They are a great group of moms and dads that live there that can always answer questions us other out-of-state Navy moms have about the surrounding area. A couple times the adults have gotten together for dinner and invited several sailors. My daughter got to go to one and she so enjoyed it. Got to meet some other sailors in the area and has the name of phone numbers of some adults out there if she ever needs someone asap and I can't help long distance. Plus they are well informed on where to stay if you ever do get to visit, and great places to visit. My hubby and I are so hoping we can get out there sometime soon.

Anna,
I made it from Cary to Greensboro in a little over an hour this evening. Brooks sent me out by going just past Chapel Hill Rd. onto Evans, so it would be a couple miles closer from your place. It's not a bad drive. I had fun today. Will see you again (hopefully soon).

Martyzmom,
Where is your son for A school. I would love to meet up with other NC moms, but I think I'm a ways from Greensboro.
