Ginger,
AO is Aviation Ordnance - he loaded bombs on the aircraft on the flight deck.
IS is Intelligence Specialist.

Donna C - I am new to this group also - just moved to NC 3 weeks ago to Raleigh.

Nice to meet all you wonderful NC moms. Ginger - my son was in for 4 years before his current enlistment (he got out and then went back in). He was an AO and was deployed on the Geo Washington when it went to the Gulf. Now he is going to school to be an IS.

Mary,
I'll take it easy on you the first couple shopping excursions!! Actually I have a story to tell you about that but when we get to talk face to face. I'd so love to meet up with you.

Bath and Body Works? Did someone say Bath and Body Works? Annnnaaa, I'm commin to see ya darlin! One of my favorite stores, (after Lowes and Home Depot). Maybe I can get into the shopping spirit!! lol
Chon's mom, maybe Anna can find Street of South Point so when I get there to visit, she can take me. Although she will possibly wear me out, she likes to shop, I don't. My son Chris, and her son Chris, were in A school together. I've been by Greenville (NC) a couple of times (many years ago) while headed from Hickory to Topsail Beach.
I'm off to Skype with my son if I can find him. May everyone's sailors be safe.

Mary,
I saw where you were a member of this group also. It's good to "see" you again!!!! I meant to answer a question you asked me the other day about Crabtree Mall. I went there Friday - then called Jennifer and we "shopped" together!!! It just wasn't the same but we went into some of the same stores and talked about what each one of us saw. We can get pretty desperate about shopping can't we?!!!

Chon's Mom,
Thanks for the info!! That was just one of those things I couldn't figure out. Plus around Raleigh here I see Triangle this and Triangle that and thought I was really losing it!!

Anna!
I was wondering if you were going to join the NC group as well. So glad you did. Now I'm going to have to keep up with you in two groups! lol You're gonna work me half to death, huh. Oh well, this is a good bunch of moms too. You are in a more active area also. There are a lot of moms from near you. Enjoy the Carolinas, my friend.

I live pretty close to Apex as I was just there shopping on Saturday. I'm in between Cary and Raleigh.
What is the triangle - I've heard it mentioned but don't know where it is?

Hello North Carolina Moms!! I just moved here from Ohio. I've been here in Raleigh for about 3 weeks. First week in a hotel while I found an apartment for me and the hubby. I stopped off at the Crabtree Mall my first week here and saw a blue van with NC plates that said NavyMom2. Anyone here? I'd love to meet other Moms in the area. I also have two sailors, a son and a daughter.

Hey Becky and welcome to N4M. We went to Raleigh with my son to the MEPS to see him sworn in. They weren't very many family members there. They let us take pictures with him after the swearing in. But, then we had to leave they don't let you go to the airport with them. It is the hardest thing. I cried all the way home that day. Then when I got home I carried the phone around the rest of the day just waiting for that 10 second call to tell me that he was there. It is very hard and you will miss him alot. I still miss my son so very much. But, this site helps alot and you say a little pray every night.
