Debbie, good morning! Have you heard from Shane this week? I'm still a bit hesitant to say that all is good for Chris until I'm sure 059's PFA is over. I know they'll get through battle stations and I think they've had the final exam. Maybe we will get our call by the end of the weekend!

yes, Sandra, 056-063, 808 & 908 are all part of that training group. Battle stations don't really concern me it's more my son's PFA that has me worried but I was just curious about the battle stations. Thanks.

Sandra, Did your daughter say when battle stations are going to be next week? I just heard from a mom whose son PIR's this week that he is doing battle stations tonight. Good luck to Div 908 but I'm pulling even more for 059! Tee-Hee Sorry, I gotta look out for my #1!

Aw...Reggie thanx for getting the card, I did not send one for New Year's and in fact I'm not sending any more after Friday for fear he will not get them before graduation. Besides, he will be so busy this weekend with battle stations and then getting everything ready for PIR I doubt he will really miss one from me. Some of the guys in his division have said "Send more mail." Others have told their parents they've got enough to read. I've slowed down on Chris' so he had time for push ups! He told me Christmas night he passed his second PFA, he said he hopes he can repeat it this week.
I don't worry about battle stations, he did most of that in JROTC, just those doggone push ups.
Have you had a chance to talk to Kendall? Or are they still "quiet"? I'm gonna freak the first few times Chris is deployed and that happens. I'm so glad "A" school will be here soon and I can talk to him every once in a while. Has Dillon decided he's seen enough. He won't go where you can't check on him? LOL I don't think I ever told you my brother-in-law's name is Dylan.
The church where Chris' division went for Christmas Day took pictures of most of them and they are sending them to the families. If I get my pic of Chris this week I will bring it by next week before I leave. They had to wear the new Working Uniforms. Chris says they look like Marine wannabes, but he got in a little too late. He really liked the Summer Whites. At least next week I get to see him in his Crackerjack and Dixie Cup!!!!
Hope you hear from Kendall soon if you have not already. Thanx again for getting the card though you really didn't have to do that. I'll be by to see you soon.

Jeanie, congrats on getting that first real letter. At least now you feel like you've got a line of communication. I know it was that way for me. My son graduates in 11 days. It's been a really long 7 weeks so far but only a week and a half to go! Yipppee! You will feel better if you come here every once in a while to get a cup of friendship. It sure helped me! Thanks Regina! Good luck Jeanie!

Hi moms! I just wanted to post some news from another group. I'm really glad that Jamie is ok and will continue to pray for her. One of the moms from DIV 058 (PIR Jan. 09) was taking her family to GL today to get her son for Christmas Day as all our sailors were qualified for the Christmas Adopt-a-Sailor Program. Her family was in a very serious accident in Indy on their way to GL. By a miracle her family is alive. They hit a fuel tanker twice, a bridge rail and went into the median. She posted that they barely had time to look at each other before they braced for a van with a trailer headed right for them. Luckily the van came to rest right beside them but did not hit them. Her kids were scared and they were all shook up but physically unhurt. They are at a hotel in IN tonight hoping to get a rental in the morning to forge on. It could have turned out much worse. We have a couple of moms from my son's division who are heading up there tomorrow also as well as several others from other divisions within that training group. Please pray for all the sailors and families who are there this week that God will keep them safe. Everyone have a blessed and very merry Christmas.

Have a safe trip Jamie! MERRY CHRISTMAS! I wish I were going too so I could get Chris for the day but I couldn't afford two trips and he wanted me there for graduation on the 9th. If you see a tall skinny kid with DIV 059 marching around tell him Merry Christmas from his mom. :) Have a good time!

Jamie, Congrats on Coty making E-3! Did he go in at an advanced rate? Chris went in at E-3 because of his NJROTC training. He did not start in time though to make the spring promotions so he will have to wait until next Oct. to become an E-4. Chris will hold out on buying the camos as long as possible he says they look too much like Army or Marines. I know the new uniform look a lot like the Marines except the pants are a little darker and don't have the red stripe down the legs. He does not like those either. I'm sure he will wait until the mandatory 2010 date to purchase those. He has always wanted to wear the whites. Chris likes the crackerjacks but I'm not sure how well he's gonna like the Dixie Cup. He got used to the officer's combo cover in JROTC.
Thanks again for the info on Flanagan's. I called tonight and am waiting for the Jan. 09 ladies to let me know what time they would like to meet. So far I think we can count on 50+ as we have 24 moms in the group and several have said to plan on four from their family. Like everyone else, now that I've gotten those first couple of letters, I'm getting excited.
Have a good evening.

Cool! My son wants to be in the Atlantic Fleet if he gets a choice. I did not realize Navy has personnel in Germany. I knew about Naples but that is really the only one I know of in the Med. area.

Thanks Sandy. Where is your son stationed?
