Hi everyone - here is a thank you - and congrats to the Blue Star Mom's who provided this awesome community service.
"Subject: Thank you for decorating and cleaning my Father's plaque - Lt.Col Bruce Allen Jensen (Empire Street Bridge) Nevada County

My stepfather, John Kartozian, every year places a bouquet of flowers next to my father's memorial plaque (Lt. Col Bruce Allen Jensen) in Nevada County (Empire Street Bridge). My father was killed in Vietnam when I was 11 years old. John sends my brother and I a picture of the plaque and bouquet every year. I sent back a note that the plaque in the picture looked like it was in need of cleaning. So John set out to clean the plaque - only to find another bouquet and the plaque had been cleaned. Many times in the past, the bouquet would be stolen - in fact, John actually witnessed a person attempt to steal the bouquet while he was taking a picture from across the street. So, to find that someone did not steal the bouquet, but in fact left another bouquet - and cleaned the plaque - was quite an incredible surprise. John went to each bridge and noticed that each plaque had been cleaned and a bouquet set next to it. John wanted to find these wonderful samaritans to thank them, and luckily caught up to the ladies of Blue Star Mothers performing this wonderful deed at the Banner Mtn plaque (Deeble plaque). I can't tell you how appreciative I was to hear that someone else cared - that someone else remembered - that someone else respected what my father and his comrades and their families gave up for this country.

My heart goes out to you and your families for what your sons are giving, or have given up, for this country - I promise not to forget them whenever I sing, whenever I pray, whenever I speak out, whenever I wake up in the morning........I will thank them for their saccrifice and yours.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,

Laurel Jensen
Daughter of Lt. Col. Bruce Allen Jensen"

Hi Everyone; Sorry I've been a bit out of touch. A very warm welcome to our newbees. WOW - thanks Monica for stepping up to organize the M&G. I'll be at a weekend long HUGE meeting in Sac. Please also remember the M&G in Sept where we will be walking in the parade w/th the Blue Star Mom's. They decorated all of the memorial bridges in our communities for Memorial Day. What an awesome contribution and way to honor those special folks. I walk past a tribute every day on my way into work.It is an important thing and possibly something everyone can do for their communities - if you are interested please let me know. I'll see if Kathy can help me to post a picture so you can see how it looks.
I've been so busy with the spouse gone. the house is pretty much deep cleaned except the office room. Oh well - I'm bummed but it is what it is.
Our wee bit was very sick about six weeks ago and I asked for your prayers. She has a cleft plallet and was in ER, etc. They have discovered that part of the reconstruction for her nose was causing constant drainage - and she got an infection. Now has steriods and is doing much better. Thank you for your prayers - and for dilligent parents. I hope that you all have a great weekend ~~Susan

Jody, thanks for your time yestreday, even though I did not sleep well, i know all will be well...soorner or later. I feel like an old mother hen sitting on eggs, waiting. Waiting for some sign of something. Even thought the eggs are freshly laid and I know this process takes time, I want those eggs to hatch!

Vicky, I have a group of clients who have been sending cards and care packages to our troops and we just discussed on Friday we want to get a new group. You came along at the right time. we have cards to the troops on the calendar as an activity this afternoon. I will have to figure out how to get them to you. Seabees are my favorites as my dad was one and my son is going into engineering with the bees after graduation.
