Congrats to the sailors that got promotions. Vicky and Donna you should be very proud!
Monica its always good to hear from you. What no more maps of napkins:) It would be lovely if you could join us more! I am always good for bail money:)
Bad news; Having car problems again, won't be able to make any M&Gs till I get it fixed.
Good news; Saw Chrissy's name on a certain list with an FC2 by it! Woot Woot!
Hey what's going on with everyone - his is one quiet group lately - or is it that I've been gone.
Dallas was amazing. God truly blessed the work. If anyone is interested, please let me know. 'Mary the Martriach of our Faith." Most of the ladies there, said that I was able to give them a lot to think about, and in ways that they had never looked or thought about.
I got to talk with the sailor son last night for a few seconds (remember he prides himself on the three second phone call). They can't come for one of his childhood friends weddings which is this weekend. He has the duty. I was holding out hope that maybe he could make it.
So, for all those whose sailor's have the duty - thank you and them.
Sounds like they won't be able to come in June either as they had hoped for a family vaction. It was to be on our oldest granddaughter's break from school (Seattle Art Institute). Since she didn't get to come down for the wake for my father in-law in March, they were hoping to come during her break. No luck.
So, I asked for Labor Day and the annual family reunion. We will see. I'm praying.
He is trying to get stuff together for his officer's package - so thankfully, we had one more certified copy of his birth certificate. He asked if w had his high school transcripts too! Sorry, when you decide to join the Navy at 16 - stuff gets sent to you not your folks. Praying that this will work this time for him. He is still working on getting the quals and records that were inadvertantly distroyed restructured.
Anway, remember the event in Grass Valley on Monday if you want to come up. I'll try for June 1st, but things look a bit crazy for me (as usual).
Happy Memorial Day and thank you to those of you who have veterans in your family for the tradition of service. I just connected with a cousin (via the family geneology - Ancestry.com), and he is in the Navy too. How cool is that! Some traditions pass on to all generations. Blessings ~s~
Welcome NF Mom!
Hi all, I have been on N4Ms less and less lately too, but have been wishing for a M&G and got on tonight just to see if one was planned. Unfortunately, I can't make it on June 1, I will be showing some of my art in a studio tour in Folsom all weekend. If y'all wanted to take a field trip out to Folsom and visit me, I wouldn't complain ;)
I'm off to Dallas this morning to give the retreat to my friends community. I'll be back on Saturday around midnight.
Like many, I didn't hear from my sailor on Mother's day - I was pretty meloncoly, until I thought of each of you and the sacrifices that you each make so bravely.
Wow, Monica our sailor has been in 11 years and never a mention of a Tiger Cruise - guess we all don't get to do that. Sorry that you miss the opporturnity. But you aren't alone. Maybe you can adopt a sailor who has the opportunity to take you on one :-}
Just wanted also to invite you all to Grass Valley on Memorial Day. The Blue Star Mom's are going to host a Memorial Day walk to visit all the plaques for the Gold Star families. Our chapter continues what was started in WWII, by purchasing and placing the plaques on the bridges. They will be cleaning the plaques this Saturday. Awesome stuff. So, if you are looking for something to do the Gold Star walk will be from 11 am - 3 pm.
Monica....Before he rents anything go to the website for the law enforcment in that area. They all have sites that tell you how many calls for service, what type of calls they have, and to what neighborhoods and streets they respond too.
Hi Monica, I've lived in the Sacramento area for 35 years, I'd love to talk to you about some of the areas around the area that your son may want to look into, and some definite areas to avoid. I sent you a PM.
I'm up for it, Alaina, I like the M&G's at Mom's houses the best.
