Ditto the welcome Tee-1sailor's mom!
Hey Bea - which Thursday at the Speg. Fac on Hwy 50 & Sunrise? Do you have an eta? I have to calculate driving time if I can come.

On another note: My unemployment has been delayed again. The next phone interview will be on 9-22. The HR director stated that I voluntariarly left - retired. Well, that was after I got the "Notice of Termination". I only retired because of that. So, I'm thinking that other than the financial squeeze until the first week of October all should be fine. I'll get a copy of the letter to them as soon as I can, and we should be okay. No jobs here yet. Over 100 for any clerical position - and there have only been six in the paper in the last month. The Union is in 'binding arbritation with the Courts. I don't know when the next meeting will be or anything. However, there are roomers that the next round of lay off's are coming soon. Please keep the prayers coming.
My angel blessings, ~s

Good Morning everyone, I just joined this group. My son just graduated from BC and is currently on hold in GL. He was going pre-BUDS but deicded to switch to something else. Getting together sound great but I don't drive due to vision impairment so I was wondering if your get-togethers are only for Navy women or can husbands come too? Wow, that was a long sentence!!

YEA BEA! AWESOME!! I spoke with Lance, and he is going to try, but is unsure - and I'm noticed that they didn't have a poster of a sub - woops. I sure hope that he comes. By the way here are the 'back way' directions:
I-80 east to Reno. In Auburn Hwy 49 north to Grass Valley/Nevada City.
In Nevada City right after the Broad Street exit you will exit to the left.
Taking Hwy 49 to North San Juan and Downieville.
Follow Hwy 49 past through the light (North Bloomfield Rd and East Broad Street) ,
The Government Center will be next on your right <0.2 mi>; on the left will be Orchard Street.
The next left will be the turn for West Broad Street <0.2 mi> and Cement Hill Road on the right.
Still on Hwy 49. You will pass the Nevada City Elks and Juvenile Hall on the left.
The next left turn will be onto Old Downieville Hwy. This intersection is two (2) miles from where you turn off to go to North San Juan/Downieville. There is a sign there for a business a a MFC and Midwifery on the corner. If you get to 'The Willow' restaurant on the left and New Town Road you have gone too far - turn around. It will be the first street on your right then.
Follow Old Downieville Hwy 1.6 miles. Ours is the second paved driveway on the left after the intersction of Chamion Mine Road (dirt on your right).
I'll mark with balloons. Check out a map, and let me know if this makes sense to you.

I will try to make the Thursday too - thanks again Bea.

Hi Susan & All Nor Cal moms,
RE: Recruiting Officers for our Meet & Greet Events.
I invited Commander Romuel "Roy" Nafarrete to our October Event. He is in charge of recruiting for Northern California (from Ukiah to Porterville, from San Francisco to South Tahoe). When informed that we had a Meet and Greet in Nevada City, he said he would be delighted to drive to Nevada City for the September 13 Event. He said he did not mind the drive at all and he is happy to attend, even if a local recruiting officer has accepted Susan's invitation. He is checking his schedule to confirm an Oct date for Los Altos (most likely Oct 18 - more info to come). Here is CDR Nafarrete's profile.

Hi Linda: Everybody is welcome. There will be the Constitution Day parade happening that afternoon. We can walk down to it - maybe participate if we have enough that want to walk with the Blue Star Mom's (if they will have us); or we can just watch. It is a special parade for our community. The Mason's started it in the late 70's. Very special event here. If the group doesn't want to go down to the parade, we are good with that too. We can have up to sixty in our yard, so there is plenty of room - and if any want to swim we have a pool too. I'm off to invite the recruiters ~s

Hi Everybody: I've deleted the two postings that I had on the 'EVENTS" tab for our get together on 9-13-09 in Nevada City. So, if you car coming, please post it to the one that is there now. Sorry, I'll get better at this. ~s
