Oh my goodness. The prayer warriors need to be very busy. I will do my part! My heart sank when I read the post for the Paul and his family. Oh Lord! There is a prayer group here as well. I'll check to see if the post is there, and if it is not - it will be shortly.
Thank you all for your prayers with the loss of my job. I'll be checking into securing my pension and medical coverage. I am blessed to have that, and want to make sure that I keep it. I have some time-my last day is the 24th. But, I didn't want to chat about that here - - on my page I'll figure out how to do a blog now {:-}.
What I did want to post was an invitation to host the next meet and greet here at our house - while I know that a restaurant it probably easier for everybody - Jody had it at her house, and with my circumstances now, we have an awesome back yard. Truly, we do most of the family party's here because of the back yard. So, how does Sunday the 13th of September sound starting around 1 pm? Please let me know your thoughts. I may be too far for you all to come. Honesly, Nevada City is beautiful, and now with some time off we may get things 'spurced' up a bit. My angel blessings to each of you~s

Cindi....Welcome to the group. Yes, they are reading from a script. It is one of the many lessons they must learn in following instructions to the letter. Its not that they don't want to say, more. Its that they can't.

Having just had my son in Aghanistan working a job that he could not tell me very much about because of security, I understand why they must learn these hard lessons.

Not that any of this makes you feel any better, just know that we Navy mom's understand what you are feeling and we have and continue to be there.

Best of luck to you and your family. Look forward to meeting you soon.

Far winds and following seas.

Hi Teri,

My son joined last May and is Hospital Corpsman. He loves it, so if you have any questions, let me know. He's currently stationed in Pendleton and was just home (in Roseville) over the holiday weekend. It's nice having him closeby, Good-luck.

All....Sunday afternoons work for me. I would love for everyone to get together soon for another meet and greet.

Any weekend but July 18th and 19th, my house and I are available. Just let me know when, I don't want this to turn into the Jody show.

Hi No. Cal. Moms,
Sunday afternoons are better than Sunday mornings for Meet and Greets. How often do you have them?
Teri, My daughter's recruiter basically said the same thing; that is that so many young people have been applying to the military because they can't get civilian jobs. She first asked for a medic job and he said she would have to wait until Feb. 2010, she went back and asked about other jobs and he said if you want this Tech job you can leave in three weeks. She took it!

Hi everybody and WELCOME. We are growing YIPEE. More support and help.
JODY THANK YOU. You have a wonderful home, and it was nice to relax and get to know you, your daughter and Karolee better. So, what works best?? That is a good question. Sunday's are okay with me but 1 pm is much better for me than 11 am (if possible). I'll do whatever I can. Our sailor and his family may be around in August for a visit. That would be very nice. Welcome to those new - and let's try to get togehter again soon. Stuff happens so very fast, support is important for all of us~s

Hi again,
Ducky, I don't know yet when Chrissy will graduate, she hurt her ankle and is in physical therapy. When she is well enough she will be put in a new division and resume her training. We are hoping for 8/7 or 8/14.
Welcome Cindi, this is a great site and you will find many Moms that can help you thru this time in your life as we are all going thru it together. I live in Sutter Creek, CA it is in the foothills east of the Stockton/Sacramento area, near Jackson. - Vicky

Hi No. California Moms,
My name is Vicky, and my Navy daughter's name is Chrissy, she is at Great Lakes RTC. She left on 5/27. This is the first time she has lived out ot state, in her last letter she said she misses California. The weather at Great Lakes has been hot, humid and muggy, her hair is always frizzy, and she always feel sticky. I wrote her back and said that california misses her too! - Vicky
