Hey girls - I've been away for a bit - I'm sorry to hear that you got laid off Paula. The 26th is good for me - and anywhere is good too - I'll find you {:- } as long as you let me know. Got to read to catch up~s

All....I am in need of some assistance. It may seem a little thing, but it means a great deal to my 4 year old granddaughter. My son will be transfering from the east coast to the west coast this summer. My granddaughter has two little fish that she has had for a couple of years. She is already anixous about the move and wants to make sure her fish go with her.

Has anyone out there had experience moving and taking along fish? Any recommendations or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

First: Donna posted this on the Wa/Or group - and I have to share:
NationalAnthem-CactusJH.wmv
I recived this through a fowarded email - and can not validate the truth of the story -- however - the rendition is awesone - and I wanted to pass it on

This was at a Texas Tech Basketball game.

The National Anthem is sung by *five young ladies* (*ages 6-8*).
You have never heard it performed better than this! An entire
arena remains completely silent throughout the song.
You could hear a pin drop.
Take a moment to listen to this.
The two young ladies on the right are *six* years old.
The two in the middle are * seven* and the one on the left is *eight*.
Second: Stephanie - there is am ombudsman group here - check them out. THEY ARE THE BEST. I kid you not. Our sailor and his super glue communication skills won out, and I finally asked. They are there for mom's as well. They have lots of knowledge and can 'navigate' around and get you 'set to sail' in the right direction.
Okay, I'm done!

Stephanie...Welcome to the group. It sounds if you have
everything going at one time right now.

I have been a Navy mom for 12 years. We have been on the roller coaster ride for some time. Right now my son is in Afghanistan until August (9 month deployment), this is his thrid deployment to the middle east.

I too will miss not being able to call him on his birthday (April 1). We asked him what he might want for his birthday and his reply was nothing I have to carry or pack home! Because I can't let his birthday go, my husband and I are taking a trip to Toys r Us and spending what we would have spent on him had he been stateside, and picking out toys that we think he would have liked when he was a young boy. We will be donating them in his name to our local homeless shelter (they have a school for the children that live in the shelter). It helps knowing that we are doing for others, when we can't do for him.

This is your first of many separtions, you will find you middle ground as time moves on.

Pick what is most important to you and work on that first, whether its making contact with your son, welcoming your new daughter-in-law to the family or getting ready for the first grandchild to arrive.

It helps to stay busy. I tend to be service orientated, so I like to do projects that will benefits others in my spare time, it helps to pass the time so I am not worrying all the time about him.

As others have mentioned you will loads of information here on this site, you just have to ask, and don't be afraid to. There are no silly questions here. We all had to learn sometime.

The one thing I would support if there is anyway of getting to GL for graduation, do it!! It is a once in a lifetime experience, there will never be another ceremony to revival this graduation.

If I can be of assistance as you ride this roller coaster, please just let me know.

WELCOME Stephanie! This is an awesome place to be. Ask your questions - reasearch. There is an amazing amount of support and wisdom here for you.
I can SO relate to the surprise dil. Part of their defining who they want to be. Do you have the information for the ombudsman. Your new dil should receive that information-try to be added to the communicaiton list. That will help you out a lot. WELCOME - and check out the groups - there is a lot here~s

Wow, I've missed a lot. I'll have to make time to catch up. I just wanted to drop a note of THANKS to all of you! The four hours stress test went well for my husband (Dan). We will know the results of the pictures of his heart in a few days. My angel blessings to each of you~s
Thank you for asking about Brianna. As far as we know she is recovering. Very scary for us especially when we can't be there to try to be of help. However, it is very reassuring that they have a 'strong group of friends' for support (the ombudsman told me this in an e-mail). We won't bother them with calling or e-mail to respect our dil's request; and also to give them all the chance to relax, rest and recourperate when they can. Our sailor is still deployed, so I am sure this is very hard on our dil.
Owen's trip on the USS Hornet with the Scouts was AWESOME! Great for Pa and him to do. ~s

Good Morning:
Well, the doc said that the spot on Dan's lung had not changed in two years - so no worries; and he is good with that. Thank you for your prayers. Monday he has the four hour test in Sacramento. Then maybe things will settle back down. Thank you all! My angel blessings~s
