I'm up to gathering - looks like we have Sacramento/Folsom/Fair Oaks/Rocklin/Roseville/Chico - and well me up in the hills - Owen (grandson) will be on his scouting overnight on the USS Hornet. I'd love some 'Navy Mom" time. Please let me know - when and or where. I just can't pull it together - husband had a test for the spot on his lung and we will hear news on that today. Lots of praying for immedate family going on around here~s

Hi Everybody: Please keep praying for our little Brianna. We received a message that she is home the surgery was five hours long. Please keep praying for successful healing and their family. Thank you~s
P.S. We didn't get the message till last night - but we have had the Navy training in 'wait and hear' as well as 'trust and obey' (that is a hymn by the way)! Funny things you learn while waiting for news. Thank you for asking, that warms my heart especially when the doubt starts to creep in!

I Bea, Actually Nick is not coming back. We're just going down to see his graduation for FMTB. He'll actually be stationed down in Pendleton with the 1st Marine division. We'll only be there on the weekend so it will be a lot of driving in 2 days. Thanks for the invite though. Everyone is always so nice!

Hi Jeanette, I work up in Rocklin, if you are in Roseville during the week day maybe we could meet up at lunch time.

Hi All. I just came across this group a few days ago. I am a member of the CA moms but didn't realize that there was one just for us northerners. Anyway, I'm in Roseville and my son is a Corpsman currently going thru FMTB in Camp Pendleton. He'll be graduating in a couple of weeks and we'll be going down for a visit that weekend. I'm so excited. If there are any plans for a get together just let me know. I'm always up for meeting new people.

Just wondering if ....there are any Navy moms in Santa Clara County. If yes, is anyone expecting their son/daughter in the future (March/April). Our son is in Hawaii and wouldn't be home anytime soon. Would any families w son/daughter coming home be interested in a pot-luck lunch/dinner. We live in Santa Clara County (85 and 280). My husband and I would be happy to host - we have enough room to accommodate 18 (breakfast & dinner tables) plus another 8 or so in family room. I think I sent a message to everyone but I am new to this forum and group. My apologies if I have duplicated this message by putting this in "comments"

Hey - just wanted to share. On Sunday we drove up the Feather River Canyon to Quincy, and on the way back saw a bald eagel fly right in front of us - we think it was fishing in the river. AWESOME!!! It was a great surprise! Our sailor's favorite bird is an eagle - the grandboy's too!
Any or both days will work for me!!

Ladies....Ok, March 15th sounds like a good day to plan to meet up. Someone needs to be the driver in this group and pick a city, location and time for everyone to meet up.

Susan....It is great your little guy will get to go on this scouting event.

It seems weird that my son has been on the line for eight years and as of yet never been assigned to a ship. He has always been landed based, even with his current assignment to Afghanistan. But that is all suppose to change this fall, he has verbal orders to the new ship the Green Bay. It will be great because the Green Bay is out of San Diego and we just live up north in Sacramento. That means I can make lots of weekend trips to visit and spoil my two special (only) granddaughters. In all the years he has been in he has always been on the east coast.

Its been really hard with the deployments not being able to just pick up the phone and talk to him when I want to. But we will get through this too.
