Today is Chrissy's 30th Birthday. I have been a Navy Mom for almost 6 years. Missing birthdays and holidays is still hard.

I send to each of you New Year blessings for a wonderful 2015. I hope that your Christmas celebrations were a time of blessing. We were very surprised with a phone call on Christmas day from our sailor. We have not spend a Christmas with him in many many years, and I doubt that there will be any in the future. I share this for those of you who are missing this contact so that you know that you are not alone. Stay strong, and know that you and your families especially your sailors are in my prayers.

Vicky I am so sorry for you. Wow, I haven't been to this site in a long time, and it has changed a lot. Maybe I can get back here more. I just wanted Vicky to know that I am sending prayers your way.

Ooo...I LOVE scrapbooking. Been doing it for the last 16 years. Not sure I can get that direction soon...but we will make a plan soon. I would LOVE to scrapbook with Navy Moms. My son just left for BC, so I think I'll be diving into my hobby a lot more in the near future.

Thanks, Paymaster! The Boot Camp Moms group really helped me, so I'm happy to have found this group now. My Sailor is my only child, so the day he went off to GL last April, my friend took me up to Sutter Creek to begin planning our ScrapFest. It has been a great distraction and helped me to keep busy so I don't mope around missing him, lol! Now he is in Pensacola so it's easier since we can text and talk on the phone. And I'm so looking forward to this fun weekend retreat! My hobby has really saved me, lol!!
