FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I think I might have said earlier the wrong date for the next PIR group...lol...it will be 1/28/2011...we will be forming that group soon...be checking in boot camp for moms as well and I will let you know...I am pretty sure division 56 and 57 will be in that PIR group....isn't it exciting...then you can begin to watch the countdown...

Candlewood does not have a shuttle or a restaurant...but has a little store in it...and full kitchens in the suites...we loved it..it is across the street from Chilis and several places...lol

nascarnov...you know I stayed at the candlewood suites which is in that area for 69.00 a night with a full kitchen, brand new...etc....just a thought

I just booked at the Ramada. I made sure it was in the remodeled section! Not bad prices -$79-$83 per night. That's with the Navy graduation packet. Use LPNN as a promo code when checking rates and availability. There is a "discount" section that explains it all. Make sure you ask for the remodeled section!

Peanutsmom-Great to have another mom in S7 Div51! Like Cat says, join the 1-21-11 PIR group. Isn't it wonderful to get a little note from them? I loved it! I'm glad they are in good spirits, under the circumstances!

Cat-I'm leaning toward Ramada now, since I heard one wing was remodled. I'll call and request something in that wing! It will be nice to be in a place with a restaurant.
