Thanks a bunch for replying, Diane. :)

I'm so excited. I have some stuff to take care of when I get there (like buying a washer/dryer, and a new bed for hubby and I) so it'll be nice to have shopping places close. :)

Hopefully all of our things make it there in one piece!

Hi ladies.

My usband has been stationed in Mayport about a year and a half and I am scheduled to be packed and moved there by the 17th of Oct. :) I'm so excited.

My huusband is currently deployed and I am making the move without his help/advice so that he won't have to do anything but relax whenever they return to the states.

Any info about the base itself, where's best to shop in the area (besides the Nex and commissary), etc would be wonderful!

I've never lived out of NE before, and i'm nothing but anxious to get goin'! Helloooo beach! ;)

PM with info if you have any for me. Please and thank you!

My husband n I visited Mayport for a few days before our son's ship deployed. I don't know what's not to like! It isn't a huge base, but the beach access is wonderful. Plus they are right by Jax Beach which is beautiful.

Anyone that is currently living in Mayport that could tell me how bad the flooding is? I am from Illinois and my fiance's car is parked in the long term storage. I need to know if I need to start filing a claim. Thanks for your time!

I'm very excited about coming!  I'm hearing lots of good things about the base housing.  And it's official now, I am a navy wife!  Can't wait to come to Florida and join my husband at the beach :)
