Our sailors will moving on to the 2nd phase of "Nuke" School. Indoc starts on Feb.9th and classes on the 13th. Since we will all be in the "same boat" together, I thought it will be nice to share our experiences.  Lets continue to support our sailors and each other!

Our "Nukes" finished their comps. Yayyyy!  I am jealous of those of you who will be at graduation on Friday! I don't have enough vacation time left. So now I guess we wait for other A school classes to finish until we have enough to start power school. I have heard usually it is 2-8 weeks, I also heard a rumor that the next class wouldn't be until February due to the holidays. Honestly, I haven't got a clue! In the meantime, I hope our sailors enjoy this time before starting Round 2!

My  husband  and  I  are  leaving  for  Charleston in  the  morning.  Will  try  to  take as many picrtures  as  I  can  to   capture  as  many of  our  young men  I  can. How  much  bigger  is  the  power  class  than  the  A school  class?

Have a great trip! Enjoy your visit. I wish I was there to give my son a big hug. Please try to snap a couple of the honorman grad (my boy!)  Congratulations and hugs to all the  A school grads!!!!

I don't know exactly how large the class is but I hear they usually have new power school classes every 2 months and it would contain all the A schools that graduate in between. Time will tell. Maybe someone who joins will know that information and will share with us. You know as a group, we have a lot of good information!

Hahahaha! Thank you,(for threatening your son's GF) and everyone who is going to try to take pictures for those of us who won't be there. It is soooooo apreciated!

BIG DAY!  Just think, right now they are all getting ready for their ceremony.  Josh texted me that he got his new room assignment and he will be moving into a single room. I just hope he still has great phone reception like he did in his last room. I hear stories how bad the reception is in some of the rooms.

Congratulations to all of our A school graduates. You make us proud!

Just skyped with my son.  Ceremony is over and they are back in their rooms.  I cried cuz I made him tell me the mom version of the ceremony and it was moving.  He says it was no big deal but for those of us who had to miss it, it was a big deal.  He graduated with honors and I sure hope someone got a picture of him.  I'm so proud of all the graduates today.  Go Navy!

I just got off the phone with my son! What a great day for them. My son got  assigned a new room. It is a single room, noi roomate. He is going out tonight to celebrate with the guys. Amanda, I found out Josh and Collin are good friends! Congrats on your son getting the award of excellence!

thanks Cindy and congrats to Josh....soooo glad they are good friends! Hope they have a great week-end!

unfortunately, Colin doesnt have a room to himselve, but Im sure he will be ok with it, when he first got to GC he couldnt wait to get a roomate! So hopefully it will all work out.

He said he started moving some of his things yesterday.....hopefully we will know monday after he speaks to his new SLPO weather he is coming home for Turkey Day or if we will make the trip down there! Hopefully he can head this way, cause he has a couple guys he wants to bring home with him!

Amanda, I hope Collin gets good news today and you get to have him home for Thanksgiving.I am sure he will.  You live so close that all he needs is an overnight chit. Also hope he doesn't have to stand watch. I wonder if they can trade watches.

Josh is asking for a bigger trip. He is going to ask for a 5 day leave after Thanksgiving to get his car and possessions that are in Vegas. If they grant it, it will then free up his Christmass leave to come home to MI for the Holidays. I hope he doesn't end up having to go to Vegas for Christmas. That would be a depressing he would be driving across country on Christmass Eve and  Day :(

I know that in the past during school they were able to trade watches, cause Colin traded with another guy that needed it off. I hope Josh gets his pass so u can have hime home for X-Mas! Colin will be home for X-Mas...off the 20th-26th, unfortunately  me and his Dad are flying to Fla the 21st and returning the 25th due to my hubbys sister is really bad off with cancer and we think this will be her last holiday with us all. Colin was gonna go with us but he just wants to relax and not do all that travel. Cant blame him, he just wants to come home, relax and visit with some friends that are also in the military and are gonna be home the same time. So we will visit with him a day or 2 before we fly out, then he has strict orders to have X-Mas dinner ready for us when we get back on X-mas day! Then he will head back to GC the 26th. ( he loves to cook)!

So sorry to hear about your SIL. Maybe Collin could talk to his SLPO and change his dates and come the week between Christmass and New Years unless he prefers to keep it as is and be home for Christmass Day. Well, I hope you at least granted Thenksgiving.  I  don't think it should be an issue. You'll soon be enjoying Thanksgiving Day together. Hey, maybe you could get him to cook that too! lol (I hate to cook)

Thanks again for sharing your pics, it was the next best thing to being there.

My son said last week before graduation that he was told that Power School won't start till the end of February or the first part of March!  That's a long wait for these sailors!  I'm hoping they can get filled up sooner and get the ball rolling!
