While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by amanda on June 14, 2010 at 10:38pm: Cheryl-she will be on a flight about an hour after she gets there. they won't hold her at the airport. My boyfriend's family and I went to meet him at the airport. He had about an hour checking in and half an hour or so at the gate to get food and anything else. the group stays together and leaves together.

Would he be able to spend weekend with us at hotel, or would he have to be back at a certain time? I need to know what time to make our flight reservations for Sunday evening and was hoping he could take us to airport!

Ashia, thanks! I will try to call Monday, to at least satisfy my curiosity! :) Though I may just wait to stop by on Wednesday when I pick Boone up for the move. :) I'm sure the housing folks are kept pretty busy!
