I read a post last night from a mom who was feeling sad and missing her son. It made me feel sad so I wrote a a little poem. It's very amateur but you're welcome to use it. It helped me to deal with the way I felt. Here it is:

I stare out the window and
Look at the yard,
You're all that I see
It’s so very hard.

I see you out there as a tot
And a teen,
The most innocent person that
I've ever seen.

You built ships with your legos
And watched the TV,
But now you get ready to
Sail out to sea.

We hope that you're happy, healthy
And strong,
We hope that this trip won't take
Too very long,

We'll need to have faith and
Pray each day,
To get us all through this, it's
The only way

We love you, we'll miss you, we
Thank you so much,
For serving our country,
Our hearts you do touch.

You're wise and honest, so strong and so brave, we
Ask for God's watch as you pass through each wave.

I look out the window and guess who I see,
A brave U.S. Sailor who's keeping us free.

Hey Ladies~ Hope all is well.
Kristen~ Ed was a 900 div. and was not grad-n-go. We found out a couple of weeks before BS. LOVED having the extra time with him, Unfortunately, we had already booked our flights. The airlines charged us $150.00 per ticket to change the departure date. It was worth it:)))

Thank you all for your responses! Yeah, the recruiter told me that he won't be a grad and go, but also he's said things that I figured out was untrue haha. So, I'm a little more excited about everything.. he's in division 169.

I would agree with Casey. My son will be graduating from bootcamp on 4/9 and is the first division in the TG. He and their brother division are grad and go.

Kristen- My husband is a nuke and he wasn't a grad and go. I don't know how they determine that.. but that's really awesome that you were able to talk to him. I always looked forward to those phone calls.

Hey everyone.. I got to talk to my husband today for 23 minutes! It was exciting and sad that I won't talk to him for about another 4 weeks. I was just wondering....were any of your husbands/sons/boyfriends a grad and go? The recruiter told me that my husband won't be a grad and go... but I've seen on here that a lot of nukes could be grad and go's. It won't make a difference to me because I'll be living with him.. but I was just wondering if your husband/son was a grand and go! :)

No, I haven't, but I'll do it right now! :)

That is something! (Your dream) Great news then, I believe I'll go with this plan then. BTW, they have nice Easter goodies too which people might want to send to their Sailor. It's called the Swiss Colony. Their food is delicious. I've used them for Christmas presents before.

Oh boy, I sure wish this was last week and we were preparing to go for the visit to Goose Creek again! The next thing coming up is Family Day with our son in the Army. It's several weeks away though and then we will go back for Army Basic Training graduation and then to Charleston for A School graduation and then we will have the boys home for a few days!! ( I don't know the dates yet..I think in July) It would be too good to be true if they could be here together! So, I suppose I should not complain, but pray for patience and stay positive.

Thank you for all of your help, Casey! :)

I received something in my email and it gave me an idea. My son's birthday is approaching and I was trying to figure out if there was a way to get a cake to him. Then in my email there was an advertisement from the Swiss Colony.

Could he receive something like that in A School?
