Haha, I know how you feel about the heat. I'm from Florida, but I don't know how I ever survived there! We want to be stationed in the North West next! I'm glad you were able to get cable/internet easily.. it took me 6 weeks to get it! They had a lot of problems when I first moved here :/ But if you need any help unpacking or anything, just let me know! You can find me on fb (ashia hendley), I check that a million times more often than this. Oh, and abt your questions on the group page.. You can definately bring kids with you. Haha, if that were the rule, TONS of people wouldn't be able to go to the doctor, almost everyone has kids! If you have your id and everything then you just call the appt hotline and make an appt with them. And you can get BC there for free.

Hey, saw your posting about moving here (Goose Creek) soon. Tringa street is a few streets over from my house, about a 5 minute walk! :) I hope you're settling in okay!

Hi, Kristen, and welcome to Indiana Moms! I'm the administrator for the group, so if you have any questions, please ask. My son is a Nuke MM serving on the submarine ALABAMA, based out of Bangor, WA. He's been in for 3-1/2 years.

I'm only an 18-month resident of the Hoosier State and have no idea where Michigan City is, so I'll have to get out my map again! If you're near Indy (or willling to drive), there's a monthly informal dinner in Avon (on the west side) which meets on third Mondays. Click Apr 19 on the Events calendar (right-hand column) for those details. There's also a gathering planned in South Bend for April 24 (also on the Events calendar) and a state-wide gathering this summer... so stay tuned!

The 8 weeks of bootcamp are tough for the sailor AND the wife, but they WILL pass! Just write as much as you can, keep telling him he can do it, and that you're proud of him and love him, no matter what happems. And if you attend PIR ("Pass In Review" = graduation), you'll be so proud that your chest will hurt!

Jump in with any questions or comments you may have. I think you'll find we're a nice bunch of folks and always willing to lend an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Hugs! k.

Alex was born August 17th because the doctor "didn't want to deliver at night." Poor kid was ready on the 16th though. I'm not really stressing about the moving anymore, I am just stressing on getting everything packed since we are going to do a DITY move. I think I would rather it be week one right now because I at least remembered his voice at that point! Have you started setting up your hotel and flight? I haven't :( Waiting for that paycheck to come through!! Hopefully will be staying at the Navy Lodge too.. I also still need to go to a base and get my military ID card. Have you gotten yours?

Ha! Sorry about that. I am going to move with him.. I can't wait for the day already.. I am going to break and its only week 3! How are you and your kids holding up? Alex can't stand mommy anymore.. He just wants daddy..

Hi There! I happened to run across you so I thought I would say hi. My name is Hope I am 20, 21 in September. My husband is currently in boot camp and will be PIR on 4-30. We have one son together, he is 19 months and named Alex. We too will be moving to SC for Nuke school! Maybe we can get together sometime before PIR and in SC so the kids can play or something.
